AI and statistics. The intelligence agencies have several. They slurp up so much information - petabytes per day - filter it, analyze and correlate it, and can give accurate psychological profiles on people... It also helps that people are fucking retarded and put their entire personal (and internal thought) life (private e-mails, chats, likes, dislikes, pictures (geo-tagged), phonecalls, google searches, etc.) online, all of which is sent to the AI. Not to mention the fact that your browser is pretty unique too - there is no privacy online. People used to whisper their most innermost secrets and fears in prayer to God, now they shout it to Google - who passes it on to the AI's.

You might think you're a unique snowflake, but you're just a:

white
male
late teens or early-to mid twenties
greater knowledge of IT than the average person
plays video games
probably a loner, not much of a social life
etc.

Hence, you're likely to be similar in behavior and thoughts to the others of your 'group'.
