yes. my case fans use a molax connector. my cpu fan connects to the motherboard where their is a fan controller onboard

You might need to reapply thermal compound on your CPU. I wish I could be more help, but I would have to be there physically to do more.

op here. i forgot to mention that i use my computer for heavy gaming. its a regular dell inspiron that i did some case mods with and installed a graphics card

Speedfan doesn't read the temperature sensors on any computer made in the last 5 years properly. Try RealTemp or Speccy for reading temperatures.
