The Xperia Z3C was/is on point. Even the newer Xperia phones look great. I hope to god they don't change it just for the sake of change. I'm tired of reviewers complaining about designs not changing enough from year to year.

The iPhone 4/4S is objectively the best looking phone that has ever been build. They went all in with the design and the materials. It was the last phone that had the design for the design itself. It was a gamble, it cost too much to produce but it definitely left a mark. That's why you don't see phones like these anymore. It's part of history.

It seems I'm the only person in the world who genuinely enjoys the design of the back of the Pixel.
I admit the front needs a little work -- maybe some smaller bezels and front-facing speakers could do the trick -- but the back is beautiful (at least to me.)

Absolutely disgusting. I had one of these and the little rolly ball was so much better. Even though the keys on this were wider than the outgoing model, they were also flat and slippery so it made the thing nearly impossible to type on. It was an absolute downgrade.

The sidekick 3 and sk08 had the greatest QWERTY keyboards a cellphone has ever seen. Nearly everything else about the phone was shit but god damn typing on this thing was pure magic.

Also loved how the rolly ball lit up to let you know you had a text/email/missed call. Still can't believe many smartphones today don't have something similar.

The problem was the spacing between keys. On the bold the keys were crammed together with an odd shaped bump to help differentiate them, but simply making smaller, more tactile buttons with sufficient negative space between worked so much better.
That was the other problem: they felt mushy compared to the previous model.

I've used a dozen different blackberrys over the years and while they're a close second, the sidekick is leagues ahead. Just look at it, it's a thumbsized version of a desktop keyboard and feels every bit as natural and the keys felt amazing to press.

I was probably as quick at typing on that hideous thing as I am at a proper desktop. Sure it wasn't a nice looking phone by any means and childish with that flippy screen, but god damn that keyboard was incredible.

I've never been a fan of keyboards like that. I mean, even if the keys available are better they're just a pain to type on. I can't say I've used the sidekick's keyboard specifically but I've used keyboards like it. I never liked QWERTY keyboard phones until I used a knockoff that had keys shaped like BlackBerry's. I always thought it was objective that they were the best keyboards but I guess not.
