Any good books on hacking and cracking, /g/?
I want to introduce myself to the world of system security. It doesn't matter if it's ethical or unethical hacking, I might use it one way or another.
The art of intrusion. It's not technical but it's interesting. Honestly for hacking learn a language. something like C, C++, Python, Ruby. You can't go wrong. Once you learn one the rest are easier.

I have a basic knowledge of C++, currently learning VB (for other purposes), and pretty much the mind of programmer.
Will that do it? Still need to know how to use C++ for hacking though.

Honestly, if you want to learn some quick effective methods of basic hacking some of the udemy tutorials are pretty good, can walk you through the basic level of hacking into wireless networks using pretty much the base install of Kali. That's quite fun and practical since you probable have multiple wireless networks near you. Once you have a taste for it, get a general understanding of Linux, since you'll be using it a great deal, as well as a language, Python is a great place to start. Once you get this far you'll know where you want to go yourself.
