How do I deal with only 1gb of ram on a windows 10 system? It's a 50$ tablet so I can't upgrade shit but I'm not paying more for a glorified netbook.
>>58880908
I care to add, I've used computers for as long as the average user here and I remember 1gb systems on XP being a lot more stable and smooth than what I have right now. So there has to be a way to unbloat the current 50% of default ram usage without having launched anything.

vhs was shit and I hated it. Everyone was dreaming of something like the sd cards we have now.
>>58880908
>tablet
The solution is in the bin.
What the fuck do you even mean by 'deal with it'?
>>58880908
>windows 10
>only have 1gb of ram
Wh...how does this run op?

Should I drag a desktop PC into the train, at work and so on?
>>58881083
Not great. I mean it starts up alright, when I launch internet it's alright too. Tho Cyberfox is completely broken on it I need to use Microshit's spy app.
But then it will start to freeze randomely, become unresponsive, tabs will become blank, sometimes the system will enter some sort of weird shutdown when the entire screen is black but I can bring up the clock somehow.
Obviously the more tabs and apps I open the more unstable it becomes but sometimes it happens with even a single tab open.
I just want a smooth browsing experience and being able to open office on the side. I used to be able to do that with 100mb of ram I don't see why I shouldn't on these new systems.
>>58881130
Why don't you put linux in it?
>>58881159
That's what I'm considering but how would the installation even work?
Drivers aside, will this change anything? Aren't modern Linux distros just as bloated as windows?
>>58881237
Use a light weight distro? Google docs etc for office, only need a browser
>>58881348
>Google docs
I would rather use a separate software
>Use a light weight distro?
Are there any?
>>58881348
Is there any light weight Linux distro that can be installed through Windows itself, in an similar way as.. say, Ubuntu?
Disabled everything? Check out black viper website to which services need to disabled, and use classic theme.
>>58880908
install gentoo
>>58881376
> Are there any?
Lubuntu
>>58881376
Alpine (build against musl), a minimal debian i386 install, x/lubuntu (for maximum pleb), $insert_googled_distribution_for_shithole_countries
>>58882601
Linpus looks good, should I get that?
>>58881626
Unironically this

VHS was only shit if you were a pre/teen trying to jack it. Rewinding and fastforwarding to find the nudity or spank material part was a chore. If possible you store them on the right spot so you could just start where you needed to. People had no problems rubbing one out with a Sears or similar catalog. Fredericks of Hollywood even better.
Dialup had it's own quirks too. Longest time if you tried to real time spank it you would have to wait while half the image loads while rubbing one out. Best method was downloading what you could in advance. Nowadays the problem is a malware or that you're so inundated with porn that you have to move from fetish to fetish with no end in sight.

install ubuntu minimal, arch or something else.
Get an OTG cable + a hub to plug your shit in and make sure to install the synaptics driver so you have the touch screen.
>>58881237
is it ARM or x86 processor?
If its arm you will have to get something like debianarm or archlinuxarm
if its x86 you should get ubuntu mate for maximum justerks
>>58881440
last time I checked classic themes was removed in win 10
>>58881376

It's amazing how anti-emulator the general populace is
>>58880908
Even w7 starter was shit on 1gb. What do you expect? Use linux or be a cuck with xp.
>>58880908
>How do I deal with only 1gb of ram on a windows 10 system?
wipe it and install Fedora LXDE.
Fedora LXDE only uses around 500mb RAM, or Arch will use around 200mb RAM if you dont use a gui.
>>58884426
Manjaro xfce only uses 414 on mine for what it's worth
>>58884147
the general populace doesn't know what an emulator is
>>58884426
>if you dont use a gui.
lynx web-browsing master race
>>58881130
The internet has bloated a lot since you were able to do that in 100MB. You basically have a netbook, but the internet outgrew netbooks years ago.
>>58881348
For instance, Google Docs isn't lighter weight than LibreOffice anymore. It's a steaming pile of poorly optimized Javascript.
