Why is mate the best desktop enviroment?

Are they still porting it to gtk3

I just installed dual boot windows and arch in my p50.
Arch need one d.e. Should I install mate? It doesn't look furnished though.

OMG what a fucking mess. How could they fuck this up so bad. Son of a fu....oops I downloaded the mate version.

Because deep down all we literally want in a Linux OS is something that kinda resembles the old Windows layout but a little different.

No fancy graphics, no integrated search bar, no big button splash screen, just a fucking desktop with a start menu in the corner.
