Didn't know this is possible in software.

Have Panasonic CF-19, really like that thing but battery life was always shit. 3.5 hours at best.
11W idle at 50% brightness.
It does have hdd (no ssd), backlight is ccfl (no led) and there's gps, 3g wwan and what not.
What difference does HDD vs SSD make? MLC vs SLC?

I had hdd 2.5 in mine. Then i swaped to ssd and i got something like extra 30m on battery
x86-only?

can you share your i3/i3bar config?
>>58865205
interesting... no power estimation if you use a desktop intel CPU///
>>58865205
My X40 beats your X230.
>>58866022
you need to tab over to the device stats page anon

Will this tell my how much my desktop is using?
>>58866994
You can use kill-a-watt type meter.
My shitty old desktop with athlon x3 radeon 6770 draws 69W at idle and 225W prime95+furmark. Have dual 24" monitors, each draws 43W.
There's also efficiency of PSU (around 80% on average) to take in account.
hurr hurr let me turn brightness all the way down and quit browsing hur hurr hurr and turn off wifi hurr hurr hurr look how good my OS is at operating my system

>he doesn't have his brightness all the way down whenever his laptop's on battery power
C720 running Arch. Obviously it's not taken during normal usage, but it was fun seeing how far I can push it.

yea, Im going to buy a kill-a-watt but if this told me what my pc is using then I wouldnt have to buy the thing for another few months. (turbo jew mode right now)
My psu has one of those efficiency badges, Id still like to know what Im using stock and under load. Ill just buy a fucking killawatt
