why are chromimum based browsers so much faster than firefox?
>>58864993
because mozilla is more focused on making extensions available so that firefox becomes useable, whereas competant browsers come with everything you need built in and are not bloated by design
firefox is literally antisynergous with itself
>>58864993
Because Chrome is faster in JavaScript
>>58865016
>mozilla is more focused on making extensions available so that firefox becomes useable
No, they're going to kill addons by changing to the same API used by Chrom*.
http://www.ghacks.net/2016/11/24/firefox-will-only-support-web-extensions-by-the-end-of-2017/
>>58865114
Backward compatible (at least promised), but not the same.
>>58865141
Doesn't matter, many developers will give up on Firefox because first they had to rewrite their addon to support multi-process and now they have to rewrite it again to support the new API.
>>58865167
>they had to rewrite their addon
Most of them doesn't. CTR and similar gui modder wlll be cucked. XUL will not leave the forks though, but maintaining it isn't a piece of cake.
>>58864993
Better programmer.
>>58864993
because firefox spends its money on gender politics and feminism
Why is IE faster than both?
>>58864993
They don't try to run with dicks in their butts.
because Chrome is loading up sites you frequent in the background before you ever finish typing "http://www.reddit.com/r/politics" OP
>>58864993
They're not. Firefox is amazing and better than chrome. And if anyone says sjw meme, remember that Google constantly pushes sjw memes...
>having a shit pc that runs a browser slightly faster and accepting a botnet because of it
Jesus fucking shit. If you don't run Firefox or SeaMonkey, get the fuck out of /g/.
>>58866874
What did he mean by this?
>>58867025
you knew what I meant, faggot.
>>58864993
Firefox seems to run faster than Chrome for me even with multiple addons. Sounds like a user error.
>>58867186
A user error on your end.
>>58867941
Chin up lad. There was an attempt.
>>58867186
All benchmarks I've come across indicate the opposite. It does sound like a user error indeed.
>>58868005
>doesn't benchmark it on their own system
Okay...
>>58866874
Being faster at not doing anything isn't really an accomplishment.
Also, objectively false.
>>58868111
>works-on-my-machine benchmark
>valid
>>58868136
>i'm a good goy
Here you go anon
http://www.howtogeek.com/111361/how-to-benchmark-your-web-browser-4-free-tools/
This should be newfag friendly
Because muh javascript engine
>>58868242
Where do you get I don't know how to benchmark? Or that I wouldn't know how to look up how to do it if I wanted to?
All I'm saying is one browser being faster than the other on YOUR computer means nothing. Lots of third party benchmarks indicating the same result do.
Of course, if for some unknown reason Firefox is faster than Chromium on your machine, by all means keep using it. But you're most definitely doing something wrong.
>>58864993
Because you have not configured your Firefox properly? Retard.
>>58868473
Oh, I'm sure you're right anon.
>>58867020
Fuck off, SJW
They are literally not better than common sense. It's that Firefox that turned to shit. Even Edge of Microsoft is lightning fast right now.
Do you know the history of Firefox? It was supposed to be a lightweight fork from the bloat of Mozilla Communicator. I was on that day when the mailing list announcement happen.
Today it is Communicator.
I can't even use it for anything that uses flash on my poverty machine or pic related happens.
>>58864993
because botnet
>>58869348
What do you use. Chrome?
>>58869395
It's the internet that has become bloated. To support every standard, your browser eventually has to be bloated, too.
