Ars has that special sort of internet user pro politics where they are willing to support any policy that makes it easier for them to watch their porn without any larger ideology guiding them. Used to see a lot of it on reddit, before socjus and then Trump displaced it.

I haven't read anything from Reuter's technology section but they do a fairly good job at being neutral. I wish Christian Science Monitor also did technology news cause for the most part most their articles are neutral as well. I know CSM might not seem like a site that would be neutral, but they are. Couple of their writers lean left but it's a very slight left and if you notice a particular writer going away from a neutral stance you can report it to editor. They also have polls on some articles asking if the this article help alleviate fear, like the one article they had on Trump's travel ban. Going off topic for now but check out Reuters and see if they got good technology writers, if not then I dunno anon. I had to stop reading Ars Technica for the same reason. I don't like reading news that uses fear propaganda or just reconfirms my beliefs.
>>

this

It's hard to push a single political agenda through on a website where everyone is tryhard contrarian.
>>
>>58861020
Why does /pol/ think that all liberals are lunatics that believe in 50 different genders?
I just think that a larger government is going to be more effective than a smaller one.
I also believe in helping people. Just from those two criteria I lean to the left.
>>
>>58861020
>Believes there are more than two genders
I don't give a fuck what gender people call themselves, it doesn't effect me in the slightest. They can self identify as a blueberry for all the fucks I give.

>privilege is related to how white you are (not how rich or how much political capital you have)
It pretty much is (in most cases)

>and the Russians hacked the 2016 US elections
Their hacking *directly* impacted the outcome of the elections. They didn't hack the actual voting machines or anything, though. Almost no one on the left is saying they did, either.
>>
>>58861065
>Trump wants a small government
>>
>>58861081
He wants one small enough to smother under a pillow (or more accurately Bannon does).
>>
>>58861020
>>Believes there are more than two genders
Which is true. Binary gender is a leaky abstraction.

>privilege is related to how white you are (not how rich or how much political capital you have) and the
Privilege is influenced by many factors.

>and the Russians hacked the 2016 US elections
Most of them don't actually claim that, though. And there really isn't much evidence eihter way.
>>
>>58861069
If the Russians had interfered with the voting machines, how would we have found out? Some researchers at Princeton were able to preform a similar feat without leaving a single trace a few years back, and something tells me that local election boards aren't quite as good at looking for signs of tampering as they.

>>
>>58861081
Conservatives traditionally believe in downscaling the government.
Trump just happens to be a wildcard that wants a larger government while at the same time not helping anyone.
>>
Example:

Trump meets with the Intel CEO and then Intel decides to finish/ start their Arizona Fab.

Yet, all the media articles basically dismiss the fact that they decided to do this after meeting with Trump and making it sound like Intel would still be opening the plant had Hillary won.
>>
>>58861140
Sorry anon but it takes years and years of planning before actual groundwork goes in on building plants. If Intel gave the greenlight after a single talk with anyone then that means they were already giving serious consideration to the idea.
>>
>>58861140
I will admit that it does seem like he is influencing some companies to focus more on domestic production.
What I don't think is true though, is that his presidency is any better than Hillary's would have been.
Initially I genuinely though Trump would be a more peaceful president because most of his foreign policies followed a hands off approach, and it was largely speculated that Hillary would start ww3.
Now that Trump is in office I feel like he's also ruining our relationship with most other countries.

:/ Idk man. I just want to be able to find a nice job after college that pays the bills and supports my family.
>>
slashdot
>>
>>58861158
>>58861180

Yes, Intel had been planning it for years prior, but God knows Hillary wouldn't lower taxes to make it profitable.

Trump as been telling companies that he's going to lower taxes and regulations. Many companies have announced plans to open plants in the USA.

In fact, this announcement was made in the fucking White House.

Yet, again, most tech sites gloss over the fact that the announcement and probably final decision was made after the Intel CEO met with Trump.
>>
>>58861180
>I will admit that it does seem like he is influencing some companies to focus more on domestic production.

>I just want to be able to find a nice job after college that pays the bills and supports my family.

Trump wants to stop that.

>>
>>58861228
>>says it while living in a world where all of Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and Middle East, treat women like shit and exterminate homosexuals
Liberalism recognizes that as a problem that needs to be solved. Conservatives' attitude is ``not my problem" until it shows up on their doorstep.

>>says it while living in a world where every race is racist against a neighboring one
And that's something liberals recognize as a problem that's holding the world back. Unlike conservatives, liberals are able to distinguish between what IS and what SHOULD be. Conservatives on the other hand conflate the two, which is why they either deny racism exists, or claim that it exists but is a good thing. They cannot comprehend that something is, yet should not be.
>>

It took him 8 days to reach 50% disapproval.
He also lost the popular vote by the largest margin in history.
He did win fairly, but there is clearly more support against him and his policies than for him. If that seems like a successful leadership to you then you might need to rethink that.
>>
>>58861249
What is so hard to grasp?

Intel was thinking about opening a plant, planning it, etc. but it wasn't cost effective given the climate under Obama.

Most companies just import H1Bs so save a few thousand a year.

Liberals are the result of a failing society on the brink of self-destruction you blind idiot. History should have taught you this.

From Classical Greece to Egypt to Rome, every fucking time an empire descends into giving power to females and going all sexually crazy with homosexuality and etc., a new conservative order wipes them out, adopts their technology and science, and replaces them, and then the circle continues.
Just like white barbarians did to Romans.

The only difference in contemporary history is that you can't do shit about conservatism among any other race but whites.
Why? Because you can't use any leverage against those races.
You can't blame WW2 on them.
You can't blame Imperialism and Colonialism on them.
You can't blame privilege on them.
You can't guilt them into anything.
You gave them a victim card where it says that any whites giving them lessons or trying to change their ways (tackle the problems as you said) are thereby indulging in cultural appropriation and corruption and various shades of racism and privilege-based oppression and micro-aggressions.

You are pretty much finished.

But as a regular Ars reader, ever since Trump won, I've noticed a steady increase in Anti-Trump coverage.

Homofags and feminists are such a paltry irrelevant percentage, that they won't be able to do shit about it unless a government is forced to make them seem more than they are.
Sadly for you, there is no incentive whatsoever for any of the non-whites to do any of your liberal progressive revolutions, nor for their governments to tackle such programs beyond looking good on paper like Saudis and most Slavs.

On the contrary, non-whites have strictly started regarding liberal progressivism as trait unique to privileged whites;
and they don't want to become what they abhor.
To have their cultures twisted into becoming this abomination that you are, is a no-no.

Obama was elected because he promised to get the country out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Close Gitmo. You don't remember the torture prison either? Waterboarding? This was all scandalous stuff regardless if you're ok with it or not.

Her dirt involved getting sexual favors and good game reviews...

Not that big of a story since it was limited in scope, but important because it could applied to the "lax" standard of gaming journalism.

Was she a victim of trolling, sure. Was that worse than the corruption? I don't think so.

The only reason why the trolling aspect took over was that she was a woman and it fit a certain narrative the left in the media likes to push.

Anyways,

The overall trend in tech companies and tech media has been to ignore talent and ability and push racial quotas.

It's all over tech coverage now.

Just because FCC Pajeet cancelled 1% of the broadband subsidies to poor people, doesn't mean Trump wants to take away good broadband roll-out.

There are different and, frankly, smarter ways to accomplish the same goals, but tech media is throwing a hissy-fit every time he proposes something.

Maybe de-regulating ISPs a bit might increase competition... shit like that...

No. I'm referring to people who are privileged whites afflicted with white savior complex who treat blacks as if they are wee babies who need their hands held and protected by the big white Jesus-figure.
Namely idiots like you who lack self-awareness.

I've talked with plenty of black to learn that they'd prefer being called niggers by a bunch of racist since that's at least straighforward,
than being treated like babies in constant need of attention by racist Liberals who aren't even self-aware.

The problem with the left, now, is that when they're trying to push an agenda, they play races against each other.

In social situations, they pretend no one is different.

Conservatives will call and treat different races differently because they are different - usually just due to different cultures.

So take that to the tech world. Maybe women aren't good at STEM because they simply aren't predisposed to the logic it requires. And maybe it's not due to some systemic oppression by men.

Rape is never going to stop existing unless you erase sex from existence (which i see you are effective at given your negative birth rates).
So long as Humans have a need for sex, there will always be sore thumbs sticking out to resort to rape.
Only whites give a shit about rape, and only half of them at that.
On the other hand, slavery still exists in white countries, it just takes different forms under a corporate banner.

It's all shit that was part of humanity since the beginning of time, and which will keep being part of humanity till its end. Only when humanity is erased will it go away.

Might as well start anti-farting activism to ban people from letting out gas. You'll get equal accomplishment.

Having a rape fetish isn't the same as actually wanting to be raped. And even if 60% of women did enjoy rape, they would not be included in rape statistics anyway, because they would have no reason to go to the authorities about it.

>>58862324
Arguably they are, but only if you define them in a way that lets the "outliers" be neither male nor female. Because male and female potentially describe MULTIPLE traits, which don't always match up, even if they USUALLY do. So you're always going to have weird cases like people who are male genotypically, but female phenotypically and so on.

You're trying to be witty, but you realize that's literally true when you're talking about evolution? We didn't appear on Earth one day magically as humans, there was a point at which we were some kind of gray area between "human" and "not human".
>>
>>58862184
Why would I say something that isn't true? People who think they aren't their born gender have severe emotional issues and lack the mental capacity to process them. They are the gender they're born, but may be twisted in their heads to think or feel something else. That doesn't mean they're actually a different gender lol.
>>

>manned spaceflight doesn't exist.

Yes it does. Of all the people that attempted Space Flight, a majority of them made it into space and came back safely.

When 99% of humans fall into gender binary norms, you can say sex is binary.

When an XY has a pussy, it's a freak of nature and it shouldn't have happened. It's not normal.

Never mind the mental (I feel like a girl trapped in man's body) shit.

>those who question the system are labeled rebels and dealt with swiftly, and without mercy

The Empire is the end result of Liberal logic. They will allow someone who doesn't care about humanity at all to be in charge.

The rebels...
>Want a republic in which planets and systems have representatives to ensure they all have a voice no matter how small or large their populations
>a group of people fighting for what they truly believe based on real facts and experience
>understand the importance of taking action to make their voices heard
>has to work in the shadows for fear of being found out and prosecuted
>even after they win the war they still wanted as little government as possible letting systems govern themselves and only stepping in or assisting when necessary for building infrastructure

The fact that leftists identify with the rebels show just how our of touch with reality they truly are. They can't even discern which side is the one that represents their views.

His authority doesn't extend to violating the Constitution.
There is no secular justification for his ban, and the Constitution does not allow for the government to arbitrarily discriminate against protected classes. This is an attempt to ban Muslims, it affects US Muslim citizens disproportionately and thus turns them into second-class citizens, and thus it is beyond his legal power to perform.

No it does not. It does not affect any US citizens. It is a list of high risk countries with disproportionately high amounts of terrorist activity. Whether you agree with that or not is perfectly acceptable to debate and what you believe his intention was with it is of course acceptable to debate but you are misrepresenting the order completely crying about what you THINK it is instead of what it actually is. This is why people are getting fed up with the media. They are telling people what to think rather than simply reporting what is actually happening and letting you decide for yourself.

You can still practice Islam, not to mention Trump didn't even touch the most populous Muslim countries: Pakistan and Indonesia (India also has a very high Muslim population).. It's hardly a Muslim ban when the Muslim populations of these states aren't even comparable to Indonesia's pop, not to mention the fact that these areas are clearly unstable. Even Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria didn't make the ban because they have some semblance of gov't compared to Libya (thanks Obama and Clinton), Syria (thanks Obama), Iraq (thanks Bush) and Yemen. Iran is a terrorist sponsoring state so the ban made sense with respect to that. Somalia is self-explanatory and the Sudan apparently has shit documentation on visas there so meh.

>>
>>58863080
And they haven't done that. Muslims from other countries can still immigrate.

Even here in Canada, the government has placed caps on immigration applications because the vetting process is very time consuming. Pretending that there's no reason to do this is just as asinine as saying it would be better to actually ban all Muslims. You can't actually address the problem if you've stuffed your head up your ass and started shouting about how Trump did this because he's a racist. The vetting process is difficult and time consuming, so why not find a way to provide more funding for that process so the government feels more comfortable approving more immigrants? That's the solution Canadian refugee supports came to and our government placed these caps in December, before Trump even took office.

And remember, the Canadian PM is a a darling in the hearts of liberals, even if he isn't doing a goddamned thing he said he would when he was campaigning.

No I'm pretty sure that's sound logic. Those countries all have large contingents of radicals that have repeatedly stated they would like to ride the wave of refugees into western nations and kill westerners. They have already done it successful in France, Germany and Belgium. Why twiddle our thumbs and wait for them to do it here? I'd rather the whole world think i was a frothing at the mouth racist than have to wake up to the image of a little girl dead in the street. Could it be a little extreme? Possibly. But the effectiveness cannot be denied. There is no surer way of keeping foreign radicals out of your country than simply not allowing them to come in.

This is exactly what Trump is doing, He's putting regulations into place that slaps a 30% import tarrif on US companies who manufacture abroad.

I was talking about you friendo.
You have to show why a blanket ban isn't the only form of discrimination in relation to what we're talking about. Not to mention you failed to realize that Chapter 8 Title 12 allows the president to ban regions that he sees as threats to national security. Jimmy Carter used this to ban people from Iran in 1979 and Obama used it to ban Iraqis in 2011. Are they bigots now or are they just doing their job?

>first amendment

Has literally nothing to do with anything here. There is legal precedent for the ban, because it's not a ban of all Muslims. American presidents have used this power before, as well. Carter used it during the Iranian hostage crisis, for instance. It's based on nationality, and it's also not a ban. It's a moratorium until a better vetting strategy can be put in place.

I don't think the "ban" went far enough, I think it should have included Saudis and Pakis as well.

....because you can fucking walk from Iraq or Syria into France, or ride a fucking raft through the Mediterranean.

To get on an airplane to another country, you need to go through customs and body scanners and have drug dogs sniff your shit and have a valid passport THAT SAYS WHERE YOU'RE FROM. For refugees direct from the Middle East, they may not have a passport and finding out who they actually are may be extremely difficult. How do you know that this man who says he's Abdul, father of five and husband to Sama isn't actually some other guy who stabbed Abdul to death and took his place? Do you think ISIS fighters wouldn't do that? Have you seen the videos of them queuing civilians for execution at the end of a dock and chucking their bodies into the river? It is important to be sure that Abdul is, in fact, Adbul the family man, and that's quite a task when there's a chance that some of the people who could verify Abdul's identity were murdered by ISIS or blown up in an American drone strike a few months ago. You can see how the instability in the region makes this whole situation kind of fucked up.

Like I said you don't understand.

Regulations that hamper economic growth are the ones that make rules on how you need to operate your business.

A tax is a tax. A 20% tax in Mexican imports doesn't force a Restaurant in Dallas from putting too much sugar in ice cream; or make a San Fransisco sex toy shop pay the FCC $250,000 to approve a new electric Dragon Dildo.
>>
>>58863552
You need to look up what is happening in Germany with the kiddie rapes at public pools.
>>
>>58863437
This is where you need to stop and think about what's really happening. ISIS would not spend time painstakingly creating an identity for one of their agents that is acceptable to Western society just to send that agent on a suicide mission. Would the CIA spend years grooming someone fluent in Russian and send them to Russia to chuck a grenade? No, the point is to have a permanent contact in the country to facilitate the attacks. That individual may be someone who plans the attack, who provides the weapons, or builds explosives. The individual may just be a silver tongued devil that motivates radicals already living in the West to conduct an attack.

The Five Eyes have the largest surveillance and intelligence capability on the planet and have come to the consensus that refugees from parts of the Middle East pose a serious threat to the West and you think you know better? Wow Doug, I'm impressed that you know more than organisations that can turn on your webcam and watch you if they want. What are your sources, Doug? You must be very technically gifted.

At the very least, tech sites show their BIAS by simply publishing more articles that look bad towards Trump.

I remember it under Bush, and how Media got A LOT more positive once Obama took over.

Now that Trump is in, the Media got a lot more critical.

Every time a Trump appointee wants to defang the Federal Bureaucracy - IRS, Dep of Education, NOAA, etc... all the tech sites think it's bad...
