trisquel is pointless, you can select "free software only" option in ubuntu installer and go on with your life (pic related).
Also you can have a libre debian install, with some very minor differences from the "fsf way" (you wont have some fsf documentation mainly because debian considers its license to not be free enough, the ironing)

I in fact dual boot Trisquel and Parabola. Trisquel is for when I need something to "just work" and haven't gotten it set up yet on Parabola, Parabola for most of the time.

It's not bad, but the FSF will only publicly endorse distros which do not distribute nonfree software themselves. If you're conscious enough to keep your system free from the botnet, then that's good no matter what distro you started on.

GPL is there to ensure that whatever modifications someone have done to your project will come back to them, theres is nothing wrong about this for the project and you are basically giving your work away for the community, while ensuring that all possible contributions to it will be available for everybody. Its basically perfect at what it's ment to, stallman just puts some very stupid communist ideals behind it, but they are fortunatly not in the license itself.
