How can the iphone be overpriced when it's the most successful phone of all time? Like it or not, value is subjective and clearly a lot of people have decided that the iPhone's price is worth it. Clearly your opinion puts you in the minority.

The 1080p screen is pretty smooth and can handle all my HD movies or youtube, but is fucking retarded to watch it on a 5.5" screen.
I got 128GB MicroSD installed for freaking cheap price and only store books, graphic novel and some musics that I play on repeat.
I don't even know why I need good sensor or camera in this freaking phone.

Compare to my old Smartphone this one is super smooth for all my daily used, I don't know any good reason to changed it.
I doubt /g/ even know any good reason too beside extra stuff that they barely used most of the time.

Xiaomi redmi note 4 is great and it's just $199. But yes, there are other amazing phones for up to $400. Spending anything more is ridiculous.
>>58859373
But they're not SMARTphones, which is what a lot of people want. When iPhones become able to do at least this then they have a potential to be a contender to android:
>install software outside a single app center
>have a NetGuard exact alternative to block ads globally and act as a firewall, or something like AFWall+ and a hosts editor
>have a back button
>have a file manager
>connect to PC without installing bloatware
Until then, they're not smartphones. they're just EQUAL to phones 10 years ago with the only difference being a lack of a file manager, obligatory bloatware, a touch screen and a better camera. Apple hasn't evolved in the software market and they're definitely not the best when it comes to hardware either.

>can download and install software outside a single app store
>can download certain files without 3rd party apps
>can download over 100MB at once
>can torrent, become a tiny server, overclock/underclock, and more
>AdAway, XPrivacy, AFWall+, Lucky Patcher, additional security and privacy apps, custom ROMs, system tweaks, easy recovery, more features and apps
>more useful apps for tech competent people
>even if you jailbreak an iPhone to get a few additional features, a rooted Android device still has 10x features, it even has more features when it's not rooted
>is an actual smartphone, instead of being an overpriced dumbphone
>pretty much a computer in your pocket

iPhones are made for consumers only, those who will just use social media and nothing else. They're just an expensive hobby, popular because mindless consumers worship brands. Android is made for everyone, including consumers, and can do almost anything a desktop OS can do, plus whatever iOS can do. Lower end Android devices may be slower, but they come at 1/8 price of an iPhone and still can do much more. You can almost always fix an Android phone yourself instead of paying a pajeet $100 to check what's wrong and another $200 to fix it. You can't turn an iPhone into a useful tool and you're very limited when using it.

There isn't a single app I used that doesn't have an iOS equivalent, and this phone performs better in every way than any Android phone I've used with any ROM and kernel. I wasted so many years developing ROMs and tweaking kernels, and now the phone I have literally "just werks" to the point where I don't see myself replacing it for a long time. I thought I'd hate the smaller screen since I'm almost 7' and have massive hands (I use a 7" tablet one handed and can reach any point on the screen comfortably) but even that is perfect with Gboard. If Apple releases a swiping option for the default keyboard I'd be happy as fuck.

Hosting your own cloud would still be impossible without a router right? I sometimes don't have my PC connected to the net at all, or transfer files to other computers which only have WiFi so they can't be a host, so this isn't an option for me. Plugging a single wire is much simpler and more practical.

FLIR is awesome. I used a camera like that to find all the cold air leaks in my apartment, and seal them.

Great for automotive use too. And hella fun just to point on your PC case

iPhone was never about features. Its main selling point was ease-of-use (reminder that the original iPhone didn't have MMS or even native apps) over actual useful features. This continues even to this day, and it's something a lot of people don't realize. Not everyone wants a device with as many features and therefore complications as an Android phone so they pay big bucks for a featureless locked-down iPhone.

In the end nobody really gives a fuck about what phone other people use unless they're braindead sheep who can't make decisions for themselves.

Aren't the cost of most phones, including iPhones, not an issue because most have 2 year overpriced contracts?

The phone might be successful but that isn't related to whether it's overpriced or not. IPhones are overpriced even though they are successful.

Value isn't that subjective, product A can be superior to product B, there are very measurable differences. In smartphones there's a lot of measurable differences like the clockspeed of the processor or the amount of available apps. Those aren't subjective things. All objective features add up to the subjective factors like liking the color and how much it costs compared to how much you have to spend. People don't get so far with thinkin that equation through, they don't know about smartphones and make naive decisions like purchasing an iPhone. That Apple has led so many people into their marketing trap doesn't mean their products are worth it or that iPhone's aren't overpriced.
