Also feels nice being able to be a smug bastard to all my coworkers since they have a degree and I don't. Makes no sense to me, you don't have to have a degree to be an actuary, all you have to do is pass the exams so I have no idea why anyone would go to college for it, but I guess the same can be said for all programmers, even more so since they don't need to be pass any exams.

Bag groceries for customers, bring in carts from the parking lots, sweep, mop, and generally clean all areas of the store including the storefront, back room, and offices, replace and sort garbage, lifting and transporting of items 40-60lbs unassisted, and any other tasks as needed.
I'm alright with it despite only earning minimum wage, it's better than when I was working in Hometown Buffet because at least I'm treated more like an actual human being here. I actually get a lunch break for one, over there you can be working a 10 hour shift and only receive 20 minutes unpaid off during it. yep. I'm taking an embedded programming class. You'd be surprised at the different applications and demand for embedded programmers. We're doing mainly C/assembly programming, focusing on program optimization. Getting your hands on different architectures is a good way to learn about the subtle nuances of an ISA and it's different implementations. Even if you don't end up with a job writing driver software for printers or whatever, the knowledge you gain as a programmer will be useful in most aspects of programming.

TLDR: learn how a computer works, don't just "program"
>>
>>58867294
will do, I'm planning to take electronics as a hobby so I was going to learn to program more microprocessors anyways

>>
Can anyone from the UK tell me what's the job situation for someone immigrating? (Germany)

I quit uni because of family problems but I had most of my exams done (CE), I did all my math courses, programming ones and electrical ones.

I know circuit boards, vhdl, asmx86, c, bash, sql, java, some js and some go. I know networking, threading and whatnot. I have a github with a few projects with a few stars.

Any job will do. I need to move out of here and into the UK with my girlfriend, she earns quite a bit so I don't need to find one right away but I really want to.

From sysadmin to webdev, considering I have no working experience in the IT field, is there any hope with all the brexit stuff happening?

I need some advice /g/uys.

So I'm graduating this quarter with a bachelors in CS from a pretty good Cal state. I live in the LA area, so I've been able to apply to what seems like a fuck ton of jobs. I've already visited 2 companies for interviews and have been rejected from both. I'm worried that because I have no internship experience or on the job experience I'm not gonna get anything.

One of the companies said that I needed "more experience". Mind you, this was after a very lengthy interview process which included a take home coding project. The job was also described as being entry level, which is all I really apply for. I'd like to think I'm pretty good at not being autistic and presenting myself well at these interviews.

Am I just worried for no reason? Should I just keep using the shotgun approach and applying anywhere hiring "entry level" until something sticks?

Got an opportunity to join the army and get trained as a Communications Technician. As someone who got meme'd' into studying an IT degree that I'm no longer interested in, would this be a good career move?

I'm currently employed as a "technician" but it's just really applying the same pre-built images into computers over and over again and sending them out. It's easy but very boring and repetitive, pay is average with no chance to progress up the ladder.
