How do people play FPS with a mouse? I'm honestly trying to get it. It just seems like basic turning means I'm constantly having to lift the mouse and put it back down, even at sensitivities that make me feel like a crackhead. Is there something I'm missing? entirely depends on what you do with it. i5s are great and better bang for buck. if you're a gaymer the i7 is overkill and not worth it.

I recently changed my Pc after 8 years of service.

An old Q6600 mixed with 1600mhz 4Gb of ram

Changed with a 7600 Kaby lake and 3000mhz 16gb of ram.

Shit is fast. I'm not even sure how I managed to stay away from building a new computer for this long.

but why is it so fast? I know the CPU is powerful, but does the Ram make up the majority of that snappines I'm seeing?

>>

>>58843416
Unless you can name some mainstream games with a performance boost worth the extra cost, the i5 is still the better buy.
>>58843523
disable all mouse filters and accel in-game. console ports usually have very bad mouse movement. set raw input if available. set mouse sens in windows control panel to the sixth tick from the left to avoid skipping.

get a bigger mousepad if you have to keep picking it up. You should be able to look at least a full 360 degrees moving mouse across from edge to edge of the pad. Get a mouse that can fit your fat hand. make sure bottom of your wrist isn't dragging along the mousepad making it difficult to move, which is also a bad habit. Find a sensitivity that allows you to spin around fast but not so much you lose precision. once you find one that works you will learn muscle memory. If you play multiple games measure the inches it takes to make a full 360 in one game and apply that to another to get the same sensitivity between games.
>>
>>58843670

just practice

>>58843723
>Unless you can name some mainstream games with a performance boost worth the extra cost, the i5 is still the better buy.

Try every single game as you'll have superior minimum fps, and be able to take advantage of hyper threading that pretty much all games no have, even Witcher 3. The whole "i5 is fine for gaming" meme is coming to an end, unless Intel releases an i5 with HTT capabilities, which I think they're doing.

I have an ipod nano, 7th generation. It used to work just fine, but lately it's been malfunctioning. I'll play something, put it in my pocket, then it will randomly pause, read the title of the song playing (normally you push a button to do that), and skip ahead or backwards within a song or to another song. I tried a factory reset, I tried seeing if there was any debris in the headphone slot (there wasn't), I don't know what the problem is. There's no physical damage to it as far as I can see. How can I find out what the problem is and fix it?

Why two gaming monitors? You're not going to split games across an even number of monitors, because then you'll be staring at bezel. Or is this for splitscreen with your bf? If not, the second display should be IPS.

I was having bad blue screen problems, so this evening I tried to format and reinstall windows. While updating drivers after reinstalling windows, I encountered more blue screens.

So this basically confirms that the blue screens are coming from a hardware issue. What is the best way to detect which hardware piece is failing?

I have ran both memtest and parted magic and both say my ram and storage drives are healthy, so all that is left is my mobo, gpu, and cpu. As for psu, I had that warranty replaced a while ago because I had these same fucking issues a while ago on an old build, so my psu should be good as well.

>EPUB on Kobo glo HD
Can't change the font size on some files.

Epub files are basically webpages written in html and CSS. I've fixed a couple by editing the CSS (usually change the defined font size for the main text to px instead of em).
But it's not standardised, they're all different with different tags and layouts (fucking why).

This will drain the capacitors for you. The fans will spin briefly at the first power button push. I usually push it four or five times to make sure the capacitors are completely drained.

The issue is a second image hosting server that is not as powerful as the first. Check the archive or rbt.asia for a greasemonkey script that will redirect your image requests to the first one.

Can someone redpill me on how to use /etc/hosts? I know it's for locally converting nigger.com to w.x.y.z but what else can it be used for? I'm doing a pentesting homework and we are given a webserver with vulnerable websites on it and the clue is that using the hosts file we can redirect the Kali environment to allow you to access other sites on the server. How do I access the other sites? There are no open http ports (apart from one which leads to a site which isn't used for this part of the work)

Both the target server and kali are running on VMs on a subnet

If you assign memory dynamically (that is, when the program is running, not when it's compiled) then the memory should be freed when it's not being used anymore. Some languages (eg. Java) have an inbuilt garbage collector that does this automatically. Some languages (eg. C) require you to do this yourself, and can result in the program potatoing if you you don't.

My friend's friend said he'd be willing to build a computer for me with these specs for $1000:

Intel Core i5-7500 Processor 3.40GHz; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5; 16GB DDR4-2133 RAM; 1TB HDD + 250GB SSD

I'm extremely bad with technology, so can anyone tell me if this is good? The computer will be used for gaming, the adobe suite (I found After Effects to be the most demanding) and possibly down the line, 3d modeling/rendering, and possibly, but less likely, streaming. Will this fit my needs?

Also, if no one is willing to help me, does anyone know any reputable sites that can give me the breakdown of each of these specs in laymen's terms? I googled them, I didn't understand any of it.

Yeah, and I take it you are leaving them in component drawers? Or otherwise disconnected from the rest of the circuit? So that's a completely different situation to be in

idk. I had QuietComfort 2 several years ago. The noise cancellation was pretty effective, but the bass was monotonous. The ear cushions were wrapped in a thin film instead of fabric and would fall off if snagged once by a jagged fingernail. One of the cups eventually broke off because it was attached by almost nothing at the most stressed point.

Active noise cancellation puts a lot more wear on your ears, because it is noise.

Why are UDP packets being dropped on my LAN?

With a destination of broadcast address (host bits 255) I'm sending a UDP packet of 11 bytes (not including the lower-level UDP header, just my data). Only sometimes, the packets get dropped for a while. I'm sending one of these packets per second.

Normally any devices listening on the same port for UDP packets would get them, but suddenly tonight there'll be periods where the devices listening on the port receive nothing for 1+ (sometimes 5+) minutes and then suddenly start getting them again.

Ok, well you want windows installed to the SSD, and ideally all your programs, although you can decide on a case by case basis how important the snappyness boost is to you depending on how limited space is. If you don't have a dedicated dentist, see if there are any in your area that use numbing gel, or at least claim to have the best tech. The guy I go to has a laser thing that makes a noise whenever it detects weak spots in teeth, so saves a lot of time compared to x-rays.
With numbing solutions prior to novocain, you get a dull pain (feels kindof like pushing your fingernail into your gum) instead of feeling the whole needle. Tends to keep everything numb longer, too.

If pain is what's stopping you, in theory you could buy some numbing gel yourself, go to the bathroom and use it, then sit down.

Well it's not that the pain from the shot bothers me, it's that after the shot I can still feel a gradually increasing pain in the tooth as soon as they start drilling, and always have to ask them to stop and give me another shot. Not sure if it's because they wait too long after giving me the shot before coming and drilling, or because one dose isn't enough for me, or what, but I think I've only had one time when they managed to numb me fully before starting. Every other time I had to stop them and ask for more and it's always embarrassing, sometimes they doubt me too like "are you sure that's not just pressure you're feeling" or something, and it feels like they just give me the shot to shut me up so they can finish.

is it actually getting mounted?
mount | grep /mnt/share

(if you get nothing then nothing's mounted there)

How do videos that are in 720p/1080p look on a 4k monitor? I'm worried that if I get a 4k monitor some of the shows that I watch are going to look really stretched out. Right now I'm using a 1080p monitor.
>>
>>58849593
they'll look about the same assuming the monitors are the same physical size
>>
>>58849574
I had this same issue. I even tried getting multiple wat removal programs and nothing worked. I finally just said fuck it and went with W10.

So I have two 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT cards.

The fan on one is clearly broken. Both cards were over 110 degrees celcius according to speccy.

I tried removing the card with the failed fan and plugged my monitor into the remaining card.

This is the result. Any ideas?

My disks are defragmented every week by the built-in W10 defragmenter, should I use something else ?

yes 6/10 = 3x2/5*2

I have the same problem, updated my drivers and all of that but it still doesn't work.
It only happens in my W10 partition so I doubt that it's a hardware problem.

yeah, as I said, I do get the line to appear when I call "mount"
dev@thispc:~$ mount | grep /mnt/share

Thank you, I'll try it later as I don't have access to that network atm.

One very important thing to add: I am using the Ubuntu's bash for Windows Subsystem for Linux - not the actual Ubuntu.
It might be that mounting over a network is not implemented there altogether.

Cheat protection.

that sure is an important thing to add
that subsystem doesn't actually use linux, it works more like how wine does
i can't speak for what it supports, but it's not as much as actual linux

But it's a single player game? Glad I didn't pay for this shit. esport games don't have this problem.

should I try it also on my Ubuntu partition just to be sure ?
>>
>>58849902
But I mean does a 3/5 rating carry the same connotation a 6/10 would?
>>
>>58850085
those are windows programs, though there are tools to defragment some linux filesystems on linux
>>
>>58850109
yes I know, but should I do it also for my Ubuntu partition ?
I don't know if it's automatic like W10, I've never checked, but since I have no problem with it it might be fine.
>>
>>58850106
I don't know, it's mathematically correct.
>>
>>58850120
typically linux filesystem drivers are much better at avoiding fragmentation in the first place
i don't know of any distros that have a defragmentation task running automatically ootb

Last night my wifi smart switch stopped responding and I was laying in my bed yelling at my Echo like an idiot and was very upset I had to go under my bed and unplug/replug the thing to get it to respond again. Why would this happen? I'm pissed!

>Or does he just want to use the position as president to make his companies and himself richer?
Would that make him any less different than his predecessors?
Quite frankly, he could actually do some stuff to help your country while helping himself and since he's painting himself like an every man and a man who's not afraid of doing shit (Although the muslim ban was a power play) he will go for a full mandate.
The correct answer will be: "Who the fuck knows?"
Nobody expected him to be president.

Do you have any skills?

You could sell books
Create a service
Create content
Create a Program for any platform
Create a Game
You could be a consultant
You could import shit from China and sell it
You could create your own brand by talking to a seller in china and then sell it through Amazon

You could do anything really, just suffer for the first 5 years and then you'll just live by passive income.

Can you really make good money making a random app/game these days? I always assumed the market was so oversaturated at this point that it was almost impossible.
>>
>>58850414
No market is overly saturated, publicity and ads only matter.
Look at candy crush. The market had thousands of clones and yet it made it out thanks to publicity and availability of the app.

Growth hacking is key and you can do it for free in these times.

So I obviously need to buy a new graphics card, and obviously need to replace something else, but what? I'm thinking mobo and psu as well at this point.

bought a prebuilt around three years ago when I was younger and ignorant (I probably still am just as ignorant).

Should I start on a new PC build and harvest components from the prebuilt or should I just upgrade the prebuilt?

just upgrade the prebuilt, if it's too shitty just reuse the good parts.

Depends what you want to do. Arduino clones are much cheaper than Raspberry Pi. There's other SBCs if you don't need the pinouts and just werks software. Maybe you should start with a prototyping board and some basic components.

Why not just combine them into one single SPF? Here's and example:

v=spf1 a mx a:postman.dtnt.info mx:postman.dtnt.info ip4:xx.xx.91.12/32 ?all

The "?all" at the end basically tells servers it is a neutral SPF, it does not really care whether you're allowed to send from your domain or not. I suggest either a soft fail "~all" or a hard on "-all". Having conflicting SPFs will fuck stuff up.
