How often do you recommend doing it, and what do you use?

Never the dust make it stronger
Depends where you live and what your house is like. Also where your computer is located in your house. For me I dust it once every two months.

Just dusting is not enough, that's a meme. All you do is blow dust everywhere and it settles more diffusely so it doesn't look as dusty as it was before. Once in a while you will simply have to vacuum and be very careful about how you do it.

Pic related.
I use it about twice a year on the entire rig. Once a month I remove, and clean my fan filters.
And about every 2 years I remove most of the components, and go over everything with some CyberClean

Every year
If you have animals every 6 months.

I have this too, works like a charm.
>having to clean dust out from inside your PC
If you're doing more than taking out the filters and cleaning them off, you're wrong.

Annually. A contraption made from old fridge compressor, coke bottles, used fire extinguisher and some tubing.
I dust it out about 1-2 times a month, and use an electric duster.
Well worth the investment. Between the cleanings and a case with dust filters my internals are always clean.
The dust actually functions kind of like a heatsink of sorts. The heat transfers into the dust particles and keeps the components cool. There is no reason to dust off your computer, because the dust cannot damage your parts because it is non-conductive.

Came in here to post this.
Literally just take the side off and stand about a foot away and blast it with one of these once a month and the dust never gets a chance to clump or settle in the fans or anywhere. Spotless PC for years.
You can also blow that into your laptop vent and the dust will fly out of the bottom.

>stand about a foot away and blast it
No thanks. I take my case outside, and dust it off there.
I dust the case 2 or 3 times a year, and the filters every month and a half or so
I dust it every single day. Then I dust all my other peripherals and clean them with a microfiber cloth.

Do it whenever you need to turn your computer off for hardware maintenance. Use a cheap canned air spray from Walmart.
