Are websites just getting bloated or is Chrome getting worse? In terms of performance my computer is top-tier compared to other consumer grade tech available on the market today, excluding the GPU because I'm not a gaymer anymore.
I don't understand why I have constant issues with slow web browsing and laggy scrolling issues. My biggest pet-peve is the constant issues in Chrome with high resolution images that result in pic related.
Are you running a 32 bit OS
>>58829851
No. I am running 32 bit Chrome, but who the fuck uses 64 bit Chrome anyways (it has even more issues)?
is pagefiling enabled
I've actually been having problems with it lately.
64b Chromium on 64b Linux. Use < 500MiB of RAM other than Chrom* (tiling WM only running terminals).
Some kind of i5 and an Intel SSD.
Absolutely no reason it should be lagging.

Yes
>not having 32GB of ram for your hundreds of chrome tabs
what are you, poor?
>>58829938
It used to be the best in terms of performance (and I hope it isn't still th best because that means the best is still shit).
>>58829838
Use Ungoogled-Chromium you shithead. It's less of a botnet.
>>58829992
OP here, I have 48gb, look above. Poorfag.
I had trouble with webms not playing in chrome so I switched to seamonkey.

No, he's just a winfag!
>>58830022
get your ancient dual core outta here, poorfag
>>58830161
HAHAHA look again buddy, that isn't a dual core. That's 2 6 core CPUs with hypertheading. I have it set to show the activity for each CPU.
Earlier today, I counted all the background process chrome had running on my computer, I swear it was like 20 separate processes or more. No joke. Adding up it was about 1.5GB of ram bieng used, on one freaking page.
Cutting out all extensions it was reduced to about 500-700 mb...
I opened up Firefox, only 120 mb if that. I switched to f9refox again after 5 years.
>>58830239
Huh, I guess you win. But why would you need 12 cores?
>>58830285
Who wouldn't? I have 8 going 24/7 and am trying to scrape together the money for 16.
>>58830316
So mostly for the bragging rights then?
>>58830365
You know computers can actually be used for things, right?
>>58830316
>Who wouldn't?
Anyone with a brain, you fucking retard. Kill Yourself.
>>58830504
>not being able to use as much processing power as you have available
You really don't belong here.
>>58830285
I can literally run a game, a movie and render in the background (on 6 of the 12 cores) and not experience performance issues what-so-ever.
The only issue I have with them is that one of them gets way too fucking hot under load (Prime95, second CPU will go up to 100C although I stop it when it hit 93C) and I think it's because of the secondary heatsink not making proper contact. I have a backup heatsink, though. Just need to pop it in.

>not running using vms upon vms as layers of security
What are you the Clinton Foundation?
>>58830316
Bait's pretty smelly
>>58829838
Use Canary.
If any problems slip through into the release channel, you'll be stuck with them for a month. On Canary they're fixed in a day or 2.
