I can get an i5 6500 and a mobo for $220 at micro center will Ryzen offer something at that price range ?
>>58826585
No. Buy it and be happy.
>>58826585
AMD's 4c/4t offering will be anywhere from $90 to $150 knowing them with motherboards from $60 to $120. It could be cheaper or more expensive, but that's a good deal for a 6500, i'd get that without looking back easily.
>>58826585
Yes. I would wait if you can.
>>58826733
Yeah, i'm buying part by part I already bought a case (cooler master n200) so by march i'll be ready to buy a cpu/mobo
>>58826762
Ryzen may have a better option, but with a motherboard being included with the 6500, that's a pretty good deal.

>not waiting for Skylake X
Bruh you will regret it big time
Anyone knows whether the 1151 socket supports the 10nm CPUs?
The only pro I can see with Ryzen is the longitivity of the AM4 socket.
>>58826849
You mean CannonLake?
That is for laptops.
>>58826720
amd won't have anything in that range at launch, and will likely have limited 6cores just because yields on 8 are so good.

It will only have avx-512 and beyond that a 2% uptick in performance, not enough to justify the purchase of something that will be around 1000$ on cpu alone.
I can't wait for when Ryzen released and all the butthurt amd fags realize that CPU technology is stagnated, and that it's pretty much a 6700k with pins
Vega on the other hand, is pretty promising. But so is volta.
Yeah just let me consult my crystal ball
