Is it possible to buy KORG's Nutube overseas? I live in Osaka, so if anyone is interested in getting it, I can put it on ebay, for example.. But maybe it's available outside Japan.. I don't really know..
>tube
Why?
huh, tube-on-chip.
Intradasting.
>When a tube and a VFD have a baby
If the power requirements have been reduced like they claim then this is actually an interesting development. I'm just going to assume they're lying though.

Huh. I wonder if these could be used to make radiation resistant robots.
Oh wait, these things are still fucking HUGE

interesting stuff

What is this? Penis lengthener?

Korg's lead analog instrument designer right now is a hotshot prodigy gook kid and they probably let him run rampant choosing some crazy shit to develop so they can keep pushing more radical analog synthesizers. Probably not really intended as a leap forward in technology but rather he wanted it for a circuit so they built it for him.

>KORG's Nutube
that's some cool shit senpai! are there any amps that already use this? would love to see someone make an nice amp with it.
unfortunately, I don't know electronics and can't make one mysellf.

I was looking for it in the US, but I was only able to find it being sold in an audio amp kit.

They're huge, but not as big as most tubes. Pic related is a commercial guitar amp it is in.

I know only about this:

How much was that kit?

It was $85.

can't wait for a headphone amp!
>>58817185
That's actually pretty good price..
Do headphone amps "improve" sound or literally just make sound louder?
Why do people use them when the majority of headphones used for portable audio don't require power amplification higher than whatever DAP is being used?
>>58817053
Love that boy tho, desu.
>>58815237
That's fucking ingenious.

Anyone who's using a tube headphone amp is probably using low-impedance audiophile headphones and a dedicated DAC that only has a clean pre-amp.
A setup like that is expensive, but there is really no comparison to a typical crappy integrated headphone amp and cheap headphones. With lossless audio you'll hear depth and details you didn't know existed.
It's weird that as much as tech has developed, what we tolerate from digital audio is shit compared to a midrange hi-fi rig from the 1970's.

If you shrink the distance between the cathode and the grid to modern IC levels then radiation will just trigger enough electrons to get false signals again.
