My parent's do nothing but play Runescape and facebook games all day, with my mum doing homework for her uni sometimes. Since they need to run RS at 60fps or something they decided to buy overpriced Alienware 17s. This was after my tech literate brother and I both told them about how they could get better price/performance with custom machines.

And goddamn they torture those things. Just looked, there is enough ash on the screen to block parts of whatever they are looking at. Along with some fun "stains" on the keyboard. Also just fingered the keyboard, of course it is greasy. I get triggered if I don't clean off my computer after eating one greasy food item while looking at it. How can people live in this filth?

They have also broken it several times from spilling coffee and dropping it. Luckily they bought the thousand dollar extended warranty though.

Yep have a similar story where people don't know what cloning software is, let alone via PXE or what pxe IS, or multicast is, and just like you I ended up doing my "share" in 30 minutes versus 5 hours. Its a VERY simple solution to a VERY easy problem that will never happen.

a program key.
Something that can be installed on a sd card or something along those lines that.

You label your computer as your computer, simple enough, you run the program and it will make a local backup for you, along with syncing to your device.

you take the key on the go, it will execute in whatever program you put it in but because its not your computer, it wont backup or sync and just treat it as a public terminal.

With updates it will also clear cookies of the sites you use the password for.

It will also tell you monthly or whenever you set it to change the password, and will have a checklist of the accounts you have while keeping a list on device of all the security questions you use and answers you give just in case.

each password update urges you to print out a copy in case shit happens

The key will have a pin that you need to type correctly and if you fail enough it erases the data, that way if lost its hard if not impossible to compromise.

Personal computer will not have a nuke option as it should only be you accessing it.

and there you go, you have
1) very easy program security to remember passwords and user names
2) a strong passwords that is likely uncrackable
3) able to use it on may devices
4) almost completely idiot proof
5) fairly secure in its own right

The only issue is, because nothing is built for this, it would never take off and forever be a niche thing that fades away.

This is the most frustrating, as most teachers didn't even bothered to make it fullscreen, the just expanded the window of a player and let the mouse stand in the middle of the screen.

I put with this shit until the final year in which i said fuckit and just always started spouting slurs while acting like i fixed it. Soon enough, no teacher called me in front anymore.
