What is the best antennae orientation for these two here?
The router is at the top floor of the house, the wifi adapter is in the basement.
How should the antennas on each be oriented?
V or W shape. Signal spreads like an umbrella, only one antenna is used at a time per device (the strongest one), so having the side ones slightly turned covers more.
Wi-Fi adapter is best a pci-e adapter with magnetic antenna stands and placing the antenna high as possible.

90 degrees to each other, or if the routers has beamforming, it dont mater

Been rocking this bad boy for almost a decade now.

Honestly I've noticed almost no difference going from the thing in your picture to the behemoth in mine. I just needed a new one.

It has antennas, they're just lines of metal on the circuit board instead. Lots of new routers do this.
On my tplink Archer C7 the 3 external antennas are for 5ghz and the 2.4ghz ones are internal.
