>Streaming "HD" content at DVD bitrates from a selection you have no control over

And if you bring up torrenting, maybe you should realise that's still coming from physical media so be happy some people are still buying it.

The post you replied to specifically mentioned "optical media".

Hard drives are obviously still relevant to home users, but there isn't much reason to use CDs or DVDs apart from OP's situation.

Or mpeg-2 telestreams captured with a TV card on anon's computer.

VLC
>>
>>58798704
have fun losing all your shit when your HDD die's
>>

RAID protects me from sudden disk failures, but I see what you mean.

Now that you mention it, optical media is really good for long-term storage, but I can't justify having a 5-inch disc that only stores 1.4GB, or buy expensive blurays

It's not like we have some network where you can get everything or whatever.
>>
what the best program to encode a video file to DVD format?
>>
>>58799361

>>
>>58799382

>>
>>58798483
Only supports DVDs without copy protection
>>
>>58799410
