Who the fuck cleans it? I ain't sneezing or jacking onto it.

Douse it in semen
>>
70% isopropyl alcohol. If you use 91% isopropyl alcohol on a matte display, it will leave a lot more streaks for some reason.
>>
For some used monitors I bought off of eBay I used some of those Lysol/Clorox wipes and several microfiber cloths to get them clean and streak free. It's been over a year and nothing happened to the coating/screen, so I assume those are perfectly safe (and they worked really, really well).

Windex is cancer and removes coatings. Regular Glass Plus /g/anons.
>>
>>58791508
I prefer to use pure ethanol.

That shit eats away the protective lining that is on most modern TV screens (LCD, LED TVs).

All you need is a dampmicrofiber cloth (just water is fine), then wipe it dry with a dry microfiber cloth.

If you need anything more powerful than just a damp cloth to clean your screen then you need to quit jizzing all over it.

eyeglass cleaner and a soft cloth

I typically start off with wiping off any dust without any sort of cleaner to prevent scratches. After that, I move onto just plain water if there aren't major amounts of finger prints, and remove any tough spots with a little rubbing alcohol. Now here's the more difficult part if you really want to get a good clean on any monitor LCD. You're going to want to start off with 400 grit wet sandpaper only rubbing horizontally. Keep moving up in fineness and cleaning between grits until you reach about 2000 grit. At this point, switch to polishing compound and a buffing pad and buff until the polish is uniform. To keep your LCD looking good, I recommend using several layers of clear coat, lightly sanding in between coats. Once the final coat has dried for a couple of days, gently clean it with some soap and water and a microfiber cloth. Good as new!

I believe in the sanding and polishing method.
>>
I'm not retarded. Just water is enough.
>>
>>58793406
No, it's not. If you really want to get a factory finish on a screen you need to first manually fix the imperfections by sanding and then sealing it.
>>
Without any bullshit: Distilled water and a microfiber cloth. If it's really dirty, add a little bit of isopropyl alcohol for the shit parts. Too much and it will streak.
>>
>>58794154
Yes, that's the first step. Then follow the rest of this guide to actually clean your LCD properly >>58792949

As long as you refinish the surface properly, and get a good clear coat going.

I work in a computer shop and we clean screens and electronic components with a microfiber cloth and 99% IPA. Works flawlessly.

We use pic related which compared to "premium" cleaning solutions is relatively inexpensive. In fact if something isn't too smudgy we just use the microfiber towel alone.

I dust it off every once and a while. If anyone happens to put a finger on my monitor, I will force them to buy me a new one and then cut off their hand. Fortunately, I don't have any friends, so this will never take place.
