Guys which is the best custom firmware for an Asus RT-AC68U? I've been having terrible issues with bufferbloat and I'm told that using a QoS with "active queue management" can greatly alleviate this problem.
I see OpenWRT, DD-WRT, and Tomato come up a lot. What shall I do?
Well going through the openWRT forums, it looks like it's not supported, despite the fact that it's one of the most widely used routers. So that's off the list.
DD-WRT vs. Tomato then?
Asuswrt-Merlin, of course.

Isn't that comes comes by default? The screenshots look exactly the same?

it has far more options, it is what I use with my RT-AC66U

Hmm, looking through the feature list on the website, it doesn't appear to mention anything about the QoS "Active Queue Management" features I'm looking for.

Scratch that, it might actually. fq_codel is the component I'm specifically looking for.

>openwrt not supported yet dd-wrt is
you are stupid

Yes I was mistaken. I was led to believe that because the forum page on the website for my particular router seemed to indicate that it was not yet supported. Anyway it looks as though this fq_codel package I'm looking for is included with Merlin, so I'm going to try that bad boy tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestion >>58789263

Shibby's Tomato /thread.
Also have the same router it's lovely.

which doesn't support newer HW-revisions of it, though.
