desu, Brave has the best potential monetization strategy aside from Jewgle. I hope they succeed.

icecat is not cutting edge
>>
>>58785333
nigga you serious? icecat is not just a fork of ff, they tweak it to enhance privacy and security, and with firefox dropping xul and all the spergs whining icecat is more than fit
>>

Where does Waterfox fall on this list? It feels like shit.
>>
>>58783418

Where is Dillo?

Install Dillo,
>>
>>58785409
Is kind like midori right? How is the javascript support doing? Serious question.

Kys

It's under Placebo Autism Tier.
>>
Been using SeaMonkey for a while now and love it. Has the extensions I need and follows an old philosophy of development that I prefer. Just werks and low on resources. Feels good to not use some ass backwards modern web browser.
>>
>>58785333
IceCat has its own set of recommended addons, they pretty much concern about addons.

See https://www.gnu.org/software/gnuzilla/addons.html
and https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Free_Software_Directory:IceCat_extensions_%28proposed%29

>>
I never see Cyberfox on any of these lists. Its literally just Firefox but without the bullshit
>>
>>58785615
I switched from a couple years of opera to cyberfox last week. After some about:config fiddling, this is super nice, even if it does turn out to be placebo/meme tier.
>>
>>58785600

I wouldn't trust a single thing coded by Japanese people.
>>
>>58783418
So the higher your browser the farthest you are in the spectrum?
>>
why would dev browsers be god tier
icecat just firefox freedoms retards
firefox is slow as shit and for people to dumb to realize chrome's the browser to get when oping up ie
chromium and seamonkey should be in placebo

that is he most retarded comment I see today, congrats

beta browsers then ?

kek, I meant the fact they mostly should be on god tier or near, by definition they are cutting edge and privacy friendly, at least for the most part of course
>>
>>58785853
Nightly - Under heavy development. Least stable/secure. First tests of new changes/features; some changes/features introduced in Nightly may be removed before Release and other versions. Only for testing. Should only be used by very experienced users/testers.

>>58785194
Compile from source when possible, repo maintainers are not treating well dwb but the bitbucket version works like a charm.

Seamonkey is fantastic. I use it as the main browser for my work computer because the built-in email client and address is amazing for work affairs, especially since you can install an old version of Lightning into the email client to give it a built-in calendar.

just to be clear? are the browsers in the hopeless tier considered good?

and another question
which of the god tier browsers gets me the best battery life on a win10 laptop?

Irirdium is a broken piece of shit that won't even let you open your email half the time. It COULD be the best fork ever but it shoots itself in the foot by being autistic about every single detail.

Doesn't feel bloaty after about:config, it was terrible before. It was being laggy and pausing at every page load past 4 tabs.

Why though? It's a good fork of Firefox with a good themeable UI. It will also continue to support XUL extensions, and with PMKIT, can run almost all extensions on AMO.

The only two browsers you should even be considering are ungoogled chromium and firefox nightly.

I'll start with ungoogle chromium. When I compared this to ff nightly, I found that it was marginally faster, but that's about it. The UI is kind of laggy and inconsistent, there are almost no customization options, and it's also a bit annoying the way you have to install extensions.

Firefox nightly like I said before is just a little slower, but not really noticeable unless you have it opened next to chromium. It's got tons of customization options and the entire look of the browser can be changed. There are also a ton of great extensions (for now) and usually more than what chrome offers.

I found similar memory usage between both the browsers. Chromium will use up more memory when there are fewer tabs, but the memory does not increase as much as firefox does when you start opening up several tabs.

The only other browser you should consider is pale moon. This thing is not very fast, but it is extremely lightweight. It usually sits somewhere between 300 - 450 mb of ram no matter how many tabs you've got open. I would recommend this to anyone that is using an old machine with weak specs.
