>tfw I fell for the STEM meme
My classmates sucks and I feel like everyone working in IT/programming are boring and looked down at by society at large. Is this accurate or just a meme?
I went into this field because I was decent with computers and wanted to have the freedom to live and work where I want, and be able generate some passive income with side projects. But I realize now that I'm probably get stuck in an office somewhere. I'm starting to recent technology.
I wish I studied a real science like biology or chemistry, maybe medicine. And if not that, just a business degree.
How do I wake up from this nightmare?

should have picked bio or even archeology, lost a QTs in marine bio and even oceanography too! I got into Tech too but couldn't careless about what society thinks of me. work at a small business IT company now as server tier support, pretty good job but only make 35k and still deal with pajeets for after hours support.

>business degree
The only non meme degree in business is Finance or Accounting. Everything else is about learning (((how to be a leader))) and (((networking))).
Danger is being a (((leader))) is that you have no real skills outside of people good with people and finding a job after being let go is very hard.
Number monkey work like finance and accounting is even more boring than code monkey, except you have to interact with Chads and Stacies.
Take your pick anon, but at least in IT, you get to relax with other tards. You'll def stand out more in an office setting.

That's every shut-in profession.
>I was decent with computers and wanted to have the freedom to live and work where I want, and be able generate some passive income with side projects.
But do you have any side projects? Do you have any ideas to put in practice, like things you need that don't exist yet in an ecosystem you use?
Biology and chemistry are also STEM

Archaelogy is boring as hell and you spend most of your time inside a room cleaning artifacts. You indirectly become some ancient king's maid.

>implying the classmates in a normal major wouldn't have spat on you
You are in this field because your lowly genetic composition didn't allow anything else
