Because mobile phones is a "weekend project" for Sony. They could give a shit less if it fails or not, so don't put much focus towards it in marketing.

No idea. X performance seems like such a great device, everything is open source but it still has ZERO custom ROMs. I think it's because they are overpriced and have non-existant marketing.

I'll never buy a Sony phone again because of build quality, the Z3C was the only phone that's ever broken on me and Sony were awful at replacing it.

One drop from knee height onto office carpeting = completely unusable screen

Les than half a year after getting the screen replaced I had a crack appear without a drop, must have knocked it in my pocket or something. I went and bought an HTC and never looked back.

It's not just me either, phones coated in glass with waterproofing are rendered useless with a single light drop if there's nothing to absorb the shock, bad design coupled with bad build quality.

I have a small wallet case that covers the phone a bit, I think I got a small scratch from sliding it face down with my kick but not visible unless you look for it

Using Xperia X now, it's pretty snappy for the specs but it's a bit too big and not water resistent. It's a decent handset
