Is there any more superior backup method than manually using dd to copy your partitions and then using adb pull to move them to your computer for safekeeping? If something goes wrong I literally just have to plug in my phone and use fastboot for flashing.

what's the advantage of using DD, adb and fastboot for backup over doing a nandroid backup from a custom recovery like TWRP?
I used to have a tasker script that would automatically do weekly nandroid backup. every sunday at a certain time of night, it would reboot into recovery, run a TWRP script to start backup, then reboot back into android

What do you do if you can't boot into recovery?

then I reflash recovery
still, I wouldn't expect to not be able to boot into recovery, I wouldn't be messing with the recovery partition in the first place. if the phone is so badly damaged that recovery won't boot, then it's likely a lost cause
in what scenarios are you expecting the recovery partition to be unbootable?

Unforeseeable things happen.
uh, cloning the whole shit, dumb fuck?

>boot partition is faulty
>fix it by overwriting all partitions
That sounds even dumber
