Why the fuck did I torture myself? If you're among those who still use Firefox, there is no need to suffer with this piece of shit browser that doesn't even care about its users anymore. PLEASE do yourself a favor and switch to Chrome.

Chrome's translation feature is really neat but I like virtually everything else about firefox. No add on can really replicate it well, or at all.

Are there any Chromium forks that:
1) aren't broken to hell?
2) are ungoogled to some extent?

Ungoogled Chromium cannot run translate which is one of the main reasons I would want to use it. Any other good forks you guys are aware of?
>>
>>58775809
translate doesn't even work on Iridium
>>
>>58775564
welcome brother, i switched a while back, have to crank up ff sometimes for testing and every time i do i'm reminded how shit the internet used to be

>doesnt care about its users

What are you talking about
>>
>>58775564

Chrome doesn't have noscript or videodownloadhelper. Chrome is from Google.
>>
>>58776113
They're literally fucking over all addon developers. First they had to rewrite their addons to support electrolysis (e10s) and now next they have to rewrite them AGAIN to support WebExtension, which by the way means some addons won't even function anymore. Many developers will therefore discontinue support for their addon and without addons, Firefox is nothing.

>>58776121
Use uMatrix instead instead and youtube-dl for downloading videos.
>>
My Chromr has been fucking around for a few weeks.
It hangs up randomly for 5-10 seconds at a time for seemingly no reason. Much less without youtube running, which it basically does 24/7, but has never been a problem before. Clearing cache and history didn'y help, neither did reinstalling.

That's because translating would send your text to Google servers. You can't have it both ways.

Why would you do that?

There are chromium based browsers who have disabled all the Google spy ware.

Use iridium/inox/ungoogled chromium.
>>
>>58776246
>a browser that preloads links can display pages instantaneously
Clearly Firefox can't do that despite having prefetching
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-making-automatic-connections#w_prefetching

Does youtube-dl support downloading from outside youtube and downloading files of any extension you want (such as music, images, swf)
>>
>>58776321
If youre going to bother with the altered chrome browsers then you might as well stay firefox

can't use it because after x amount of open tabs I can't see what the fuck is going on anymore, rendering the browser useless.

Personally, I have no experienced any difference in speed between the two these days on multiple machines but that is just my personal experience. So I have no reason to use it.

Did the same for Chromium. When you get down to it, all the useful browsers are privacy nightmares barely manageable with extensions. Might as well go with the least shit one.

I just can't use chrome knowing I'm sending every single thing I do online to Google. I just can't. I don't even know why, I'm boring as fuck and am into programming, maths and art. Oh wow so interesting woo. Why the fuck would I give a shit, I don't know, but I do.

convert every image and graphic to sRGB based on your OS installed color profile.

Chrome can only do that for images tagged with a color profile.

FireFox has the option to convert everything to sRGB with your monitor profile no matter if it's tagged or not.

This is a big deal of you have a monitor with a profile wider than sRGB.
>>
>>58777543
I've used this, but I have to turn it off all the time because I work with graphics.
>>
>>58777560
Cool.

I got nothing against firefox or chrome (us both), but that seems like a very specialised need.
>>
>>58775564
But what about the RAM usage? It's really uncommon for a simple web browser to use so much RAM.
It's a well known fact that Chrome is actually a secret bitcoin miner.

Well I have a wide gamut monitor and I can't stand all the colors blown out and too intense.

Trust me, I've wanted to switch away from FireFox for years because of the performance issues; but the color thing has kept me on it.

But with this latest FireFox update, e10s has been turned on; so the performance has been great.
>>
>>58776690
As much as I don't really notice the difference in speed, it's a botnet-free build of Firefox that doesn't include stupid shit like hello, pocket, and maintenance service.
>>
> 1. go fullscreen

That's the main reason firefox is my main driver
>>
>>58775564
I have both, I use both. You're either full of shit or very incompetent.
>>
>>58777601
>so the performance has been great.

I use the dev edition, so have been on e10s for a while, and yeah perfomance wise I have a really hard time seeing the difference between Chrome and Firefox. And that is as someone who has both browsers open 24/7.
>>
>doesn't have Bazzacuda Image Saver
No thanks.
>>
>>58777620
Well since I'm on an AMD FX system, the single-thread design has been killing me until e10s was turned on.

A heavy weight page would slow down the UI and prevent new tabs from opening smoothly - causing a second or two freeze until the heavy weight tab was done processing...

Also when browsing porn forums and opening 10 image tabs at once caused the same thing.

Shit like that causing user experience issues...
>>
>>58776246
ye, cus on forums, we all know chromium pre-loads all the "delete posts" buttons
>>
>>58777500
Hmm, maybe you're right. Outside features which aren't enabled by default, they don't really gather much information on you. Fingerprinting is a problem with pretty much all browsers.

I might go back to Firefox. I miss the better scrolling.
