Bought it yesterday for music and video production since I will also be using a mac pro trashcan with the 12 core xeon and rx480 on an external pci via thunderbolt. I can even use the egpu with my lappy for high settings gameplay.

I love this computer. I just don't love the price or the shitty specs.

Long time apple hater here. Can't stand them morally.

Got a free MacBook air as a result of a shipping accident (aka I stole it after it went unclaimed for 2 months).

As much as I hated myself for months for enjoying it. I can't see myself going back without reason. They're THAT polished. I don't treat it like god though. I throw it in my duty bag and bring it with me to work. It's a little dirty and got a small scratch on the front. I think it might come out though. Maybe not. It's not a god it's just a device. But a really premium one at that.

I deleted my windows partition off my hackintosh a few weeks ago because i gave up the manchild gaymen life.

Now I have a macbook and hackintosh for my computing needs. I am a bedroom music producer and god everything is 10 times more stable on OSX compared to windows.

The workflow is so comfy compared to windows. Once you get all the hotkeys down its just smooth computing which in turns means I can produce music smoother and less frustrating.

Thank god audio processing and DJing uses almost no CPU so i can get by with a 2011 macbook for live gigs until the end of time. Programs can repick up midi controllers if they disconnect without restarting the program(windows can't do this), which doesnt sound like a big deal but if you are gigging in front of 200 drunk people at a nightclub, they are gonna get wild if the music cuts and they cant dance for 30 seconds.

Fuck their pricing models for their hardware, id be pretty choked if i wasnt able to make a hackintosh. No mid range desktop outside of their upselling iMac with a stupid LCD built in. Gimped dual core mac minis, base model macbooks with dual cores

Honestly, partly true. It kind of forces you into their ecosystem, which is incompatible with the other systems out there. Once you get into that ecosystem it's an absolute pain to try and get out, because you're basically forced to start again with all of your apps/programs and even devices.

I like an ultrawide monitor+side monitors PLP style for music production because it shows the project in the middle and odds and ends on the side monitors. it just looks terrible if the middle is an imac and the rest is like dell monitors

Pretty much my entire education and career has revolved around software that either doesn't exist or is terrible on OSX. I can understand the appeal of Macs for sure but could never justify actually owning one.

P.s. The Surface Book is a superior device to the latest Macbook.

Grossly incorrect. Have had two Mac laptops since 2011 and they're both pieces of shit compared to Windows 7 when it comes to usability.

Only reason I got a new one in 2014 is because they have the best displays and touchpads, ironically things that really have nothing to do with Apple's own software.
