Trying to decide between a light theme and a dark theme on my OP3T. I don't really like pitch black backgrounds, OP's accent colors look weird in messaging and dialer apps. White theme looks nice and pixel-ish but it drains battery more and burns my eyes at night. Which one, /spg/?

It's a great SoC though.

My galaxy note 4 is at the end of its life, I just can't continue using it anymore but the note 8 won't be available at least until October.
So I need a replacement in the meantime but it needs a careful balance between cost and performance, I don't want to be stuck on a shitty phone for at least 6 months but I also don't want to spend too much for a phone I'm going to replace in 6 months.

I think some circuit broke inside after a fuckup with the flash, the battery I had at the time (which was a replacement battery) made the phone bootloop infinitely unless charging, even after replacing the rom.
A replacement battery was useless too: it just runs out of power too fast no matter the rom I use (and I tried many just in case).

It's dying, I used to be able to go to class and still have half the battery left, now I need to always carry a power bank and sometimes it does dumb shit like rebooting out of nowhere in critical situations, no matte the rom.

I can spend up to 250€/$ or even 300, not more

My LG G3 855 6.0 (two years) keeps restarting randomly when using the camera app or apps like YouTube or Snapchat. When it's restarted it drained the battery by 30%.

The restart issue is most consistent with the camera app?

All three can be gotten for 210 dollars or less and don't slack off on features and specs despite the price, you're gonna have to mod the redmi though so unless you're willing to flash cyanogen or the global rom on it i wouldn't bother even though it's a great budget phone, that samsung S5 is eventually going to need to be modded as well (touchwizz+normalfags=lag), but that's after a year or so.

Mi4C 2gb is great for people that don't do any too crazy on the phone, sometimes it's $99. It uses high quality on the quality of screen and cameras compared to other budget phones, which normies like. It's main downfall is that it uses an older flagship chipset, so it doesn't produce the crazy multiple day battery life a lot of newer phones do these days, but it's still above average there.

There's not much difference between sd820 and sd650, the main difference is the GPU for games. You have to get the 3gb version of the RN3P though, 2gb is kinda gimped. It comes down to if you want 5in or 5.5in.

Anyone else starting to get a little tired of custom roms or chinkphones? I have a RN3P and it seems like no matter what ROM I've tried whether it be cynagenmod or MIUI based, I've had annoying issues. I also miss the little OEM features that are automaitcally in other phones like "pick up to see the time" or "tap to wake" without having to fuck around with kernals. Or like those new fingerprint gestures in some Nexus phones.

I was usually the Xiaomi.eu ROM before. It was more stable compared to cynagenmod but there were a ton of little things that bothered me. Like the way notifications were handled, a bug in MIUI where downloading large apps from the play store caused the download speed to slow down to like 300kbps, MIUI doesn't respect .nomedia files, etc.

The RN3P is amazing hardware wise with it's 4000mah battery, SD card slot, IR blaster, SD 652, finngerprint scanner, and FM radio. I'm just starting to wish I saved up $200 more to get the OP3 after my OP1 broke.

It's my birthday in a few weeks, do you guys reckon I should wait for new phones after MWC or get a current phone on my birthday?

Was looking at the HTC 10 or OP3T. I want a responsive phone with the least bloat possible w/ a good screen and camera - was leaning towards OP3T but the camera isn't good? And is the HTC 10's DAC actually that noticeable or is it a meme? I listen to music quite a bit but would probably prefer a better camera over it.

Currently have a rooted LG G3 w/ Fulmics which was a hand-me-down.

I've been getting this error message lately on my Motorola G3 saying "camera is busy". Any idea what I could do to fix this?

My OnePlus One is slowly starting to die. I did a lot of app uninstalling, really cleaned the whole thing up, but still it gets hot under practically no load and is losing charge quicker than ever. I've had it for about 2-3 years now, so its done its job.

Question is, what new phone should I get. I was thinking the Pixel XL, but I never buy phones on a contract (I buy a rolling 1 month contract, so I can cancel at anytime) and the initial cost is very high.
So, any better phones for just a bit cheaper? Preferably with dedicated buttons rather than on screen, doesnt matter if they're capacitive or physical.

Build quality feels really solid. Stock rom is really nice. Camera ain't the best, but it's a pretty cheap chinkphone so come on. It takes really good daylight shots and not half bad indoor shots though.

How long does your battery last?

Not very experienced with smartphones. I got a Nexus 5x a year ago which was my first more expensive phone. Prior to that I used a 1st gen Moto G for years. I like the 5X, just the battery life is shit and it could be a little smaller, so I've been looking for an upgrade the last few months.

So I got a Moto X Play. The camera is complete trash compared to the Nexus. Returned it. Tried my friend's Xperia X Compact's camera and couldn't believe how smudgy and shitty it was as well. The 5X vs these cameras is like several generations of progress, it's that much sharper and detailed.

Is there no one else smartphones with good cameras? Some of these cameras are pretty well-received in reviews yet they're shit.

I did try my friend's iPhone SE and it took pretty clear images as well but I'm used to Android so that's last resort. And it has pretty shitty battery too to my knowledge.

Not going to get a Pixel unless the price drops massively. Really just want decent battery+actually good camera. Performance is whatever.

Samsung's flagships have great cameras, HTC 10 had a great camera, iphones typically do too, Huawei's mate line is doing well for itself, same with OP, pixels now also have great cameras.

Keep in mind trying your friends phones isn't really a great way to test cameras. A lot of people smudge/scratch the camera lens (or the glass above it) because they're dirty apes.

Hello /spg/ I own a xiaomi redmi note 3 Pro Kate.
This is the fifth month of use and I've got to say I love the device. I quite like MIUI but I'm really getting tired of all the little bugs (proximity sensor, notification problems) so I started to look into custom ROMs and even kernels. BUT, if you want 2 sim cards, removable battery, great battery life, and you are on a budget, the J7 is better.

Camera performance is good actually, but I didn't get it for the camera.
