If you want it easy, go with *buntu (including Mint here). Solution to most problems found with a quick google-search with easy fixes.
SUSE is just as beginner-friendly but solutions rarely the first hit on jewgle.

Which is not to say YOU should opt for Tumbleweed over Leap, but you'll surely learn stuff from reading that.
Opensoothsay is a waste of time. The only thing it has going for it is the GUI control panel, which is buggy and a liability more often than not, not to mention that doing all that shit via a CLI is probably faster.
