Installing Linux:
>mouse and keyboard work out of the box
>everything installs smoothly
Installing windows:
>installer has a shitty resolution
>neither mouse nor keyboard work by default
>have to change uefi settings to fix this
>keyboard still doesn't work
>installation stops because it can't find drivers even though I'm using an official Microsoft iso
That's nice. How was school today?

Pajeet is working hard today.

From my recent PC building experience:
> Installer uses resolution of my monitor, thanks to UEFI
> Both wireless mouse and keyboard connected through a single USB dongle work out-of-the-box
> After installation Windows automatically downloads and installs latest drivers
>>58757278
>comparing with another installer that's years older
let's see your 12.04 LTS installer work with an RX 480
plug usb into 2.0
>>58757278
>>installer has a shitty resolution
works for me
>>neither mouse nor keyboard work by default
works for me
>>have to change uefi settings to fix this
never had to, works for me
>>keyboard still doesn't work
works for me
>>installation stops because it can't find drivers even though I'm using an official Microsoft iso
even if some devices don't have drivers installation still works for me
stop using shit bootleg hardware and you won't have problems

Try 9.10 because that's when Windows 7 came out.

Just came here to see our resident Windows shill.
This kind of post trigger him so much.
>>58757356
I did that
>>58757380
well it's working a whole lot better than the windows 7 installer
NSA/Windows*

Is your chosen distro of linux eight years old?
dumbass
When I ran ubuntu 16.04 off a live usb, nothing connected in my USB 2.0 ports worked. Had to hook up everything to the USB 3.0 ports, and when I used a USB 3.0 hub for more space, nothing connected via that would work. So I had only 2 spaces for USB available. Internet was also not working, I was hooked up via Ethernet directly to the modem too.
I don't know if actually installing it would fix these issues but I don't even want to bother from that shitty experience.

If this isn't sour grapes I don't know what is
>>58757466
I'm not sure which version of Ubunutu I used last, I reckon it was around a year back, but I only had USB 2.0 ports and everything worked out of the box. Internet did as well.
>>58757278
>neither mouse nor keyboard work by default
You're probably plugging them into USB 3.0 port. It's not really a wonder since they weren't a commonplace during the time when Windows 7 came out.
It's been awhile since it came out, they didn't include drivers for your hardware from the future, what can you do.
>>58757611
read the thread, I'm using USB 2.0
>>58757278
>have to change uefi settings to fix this
actually, Windows 7 DOES work with UEFI.
(you need to turn CSM on)
