Why is pic related even so common among most bigger distros?
Is it really only poetterings fault?
Also Linux thread, feel free to tell us about your favorite aspects on linux and the cons.
I'll start:
Pros:
> Its free and open source so i dont have to steal it
> The freedom to do whatever you want in your system
> literally no restrictions about custonisation
> perfect programming station and flawless integration with (spac)emacs
> no poo in the loo spies
> runs on almost every hardware
Cons:
> Some customisations are quite a dirty hack
> systemD
> printers are a fuck up
if you mind the missing games you belong to /v/, kiddo

Most printers made within the last 10 years should support Linux and CUPS is flawless.

You can redirect to a text file or use tunneling to save it or use rsyslog.
pros:
it is a free system that is taking over the internet and therefore world
cons:
full of meme spouting turbo shits who don't even know what an init system is but have been fooled by clickbait shit memes into think they're linux developers and important enough to make these choices
>>58755321
In what way is SystemD a con? It's the best init system to date.
>>58755454
This is retarded.
I don't care "professional" this dipshit is.
Why does he not write a script file with his shitty init code. It literally doesn't even take arguments.
>>58756083
I hate how it handles the daemon disk io.
>also
udev is shit
systemd is actually quite good, especially for servers. Writing own services is a breeze compared to the old init shits.

I'm pretty sure the only people who hate systemd are the people who never wrote LSB init scripts
My favorite is when different distros don't ship with the same LSB helper functions or they aren't in the right place.
systemd a shit, only good thing is writing services.

Try the last twenty. I very rarely come across a printer I can't use. Now, some of them have meh print quality (anything using fo2zjs), but those printers also had mediocre print quality in Windows, so I'm not terribly upset
