g700 made my PC experiance better.
It's macro functions gave me the ability to bind special actions to buttons: so I have a special biding for opening a browser window, opening a new card with chat with my m8 and then sending him a "fuck off mate". The other button opens up all relevant porn sites. And did I mention the profiles? It can hold 5 of them. That's how I made blender actually usable: my mouse has a special profile with bidings for shits I do frequently. Aand what if I want to masturbate on a couch a few meters away? What If I want to masturbate outside of the window? This fucker is wireless+wired. You just connect/disconnect the cord, that's all.

I have a g600, have left click and middle click switch positions when i shift click

this equates to middle mouse buttons constantly not working because the fucking profiles.

had the mouse turn lights off after 2 minutes of inuse (I use color to tell me if profiles lost focus) this ends up in logitech deciding to sleep the keyboard and mouse when mouse lights are shut off that way, the program sometimes hangs, so there you go need to restart computer because nothing works but ctrl alt delete and only till it goes back to desktop.

I think I started off using a mouse with a ball on a matte painted table that was converted into a desk. Then went on to use a ball mouse that came with my Compaq, and finally found out about usb "laser" or optical mice, my dad was convinced they had the ability to fuck up the computer. But op's pic is the first optical mouse I used, eventually the clicking action wore out to the point of not working after discovering aol free trail discs. After they wore out I would pick up the cheapest optical from walmart and went from there, I like the microsoft blue mouse, but it has been a long time since using the Microsoft optical. Probably used a lot of ball mice in elementary school through high school, and would take the balls out just for the fuck of it and put them back in, some of the less behaved kids would hide them or play with them and roll them around. Quickly after cheap optical mice became available they phased out the ball mice, and students would say, "hey i got the good computer" if they happened to be sitting at a work station with an optical mouse.

It was a mouse that kind of paved the way for modern, high performance mice.

It was pretty much the first mouse to have no jitter, no angle snapping, no acceleration. It was just super smooth. Most people didn't even realize how good a mouse could be until they tried it.

It's like listening to AM radio on a shitty box your entire life then someone handing you something without static. You may have never realized the static was there before, but you could never go back now.

It's not really too relevant with today's screen sizes, as you're forced to use acceleration to compensate for the low DPI to get decent speeds at high resolution which destroys a big reason to even own one, unless of course you are one of those super retarded autistic gamers that use a one meter mouse pad to do a quarter turn or some stupid shit.

Since this is the new mouse general, I've been googling myself mad the last few weeks to find the mouse with the form factor of a SteelSeries Rival 700 or Razer Mamba or mouse in OP, something that doesn't have a retarded thumb bump, but has the free scroll/hyperscroll toggle that the MX Performance Mouse and MX Master have for example. Since using the MX518 I can't think of not having that toggle, because it's extremely useful when browsing, reading and programming.

I have always had trouble finding mice with 4-8 side buttons that are any good.

I caved in and bought this last year but I have had lots of problems. I have to turn all the lighting off or the mouse heats up (especially uncomfortable on the rubber thumb rest). poor drivers and the rubber is coming off already.

Why are shitty mmo gaming mice the only ones with lots of buttons? I use all of them frequently and it allows me to work or fap with one hand easily.

I won't buy another mouse without a thumb button after using my G502. It's incredibly convenient to use the button as a push-to-talk key for Mumble or other VoIP. Using the hardware profiles in the mouse I can switch between shout and whisper with a single press which is great too.

It has shitty gamer looks but I can forgive it that since it's super comfy and has a perfect sensor

I have to change my mouse every month because I use it 24/7 I am game developer and tester which means I move the mouse even a lot more, sometimes the cable nearest to the mouse fails, sometimes it's the click, it's always any of these two reasons and I have not been able to find anise that last longer then a month

first i bought a Rival 300 silver edition, and the pointer would auto walk by itself at times, read online that the silver edition had some problems, so i returned it and bought a zowie ec1-a but same problem appeared so i'm thinking maybe they have tracking issues on my steelseries 9hd mousepad (though my last couple of mice, some cheap rebranded gigabyte mouse i got for free and a ie 3.0, had no problem on it) so got a pitch black mousepad instead but same problem
then was at a mate's place who had bought a new rival 300 and he had same problem with the cursor auto walking

My SS Rival (from mid '14, I think, before they introduced numbered versions of it) has a scroll wheel that skips forward a couple of spots here and there, which is a pain in the butt even though I refuse to not use it. The rubber pads where I usually grip it are also gone, but that's not a huge deal for me.

Since I only play Minecraft, though, it mostly goes to waste, since 95% of the time, I only use my Editing Profile (Cut, Copy, Paste, Font Formats, Save, and Window-Switching), then like 4.5% of the time, I use my Web Profile to save pictures suber fast and shit.
