Should I switch to Linux? And if so which distro? I'm currently on windows 10 and was thinking of switching to maybe Arch or something else.

no. its shit
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

if you're asking for that you should stay on win10
search if you really care

Get Debian.
Old shit but good shit.
Teaches you the basics.
If it just werks: Mint
If you want difficulty for the sake of customization and E-peen: Arch
If you want difficulty for the sake of optimization & tuning: Gentoo

Arch is not only a shitty first distro, it is also the shittiest because it is unstable as hell. Get comfy with Elementary and THEN you can think about trying something else.

You can get Open Suse, Linux Mint or Zorin. If you're in a read a little you can get Debian or Manjaro. If you are in for an adventure you can get Arch, Gentoo or LFS. Me? I love Debian and Mint.
Install Kali Xddd

I don't really know how to respond but thanks. That was really interesting
So arch is a no go? From what I can tell.

Not for a newbie. /g/ doesn't talk a lot about OpenSuse but is /comfy/

It looks like a nice switch, like a not so big change in where things are

Linux is great!
Try Manjaro, it's an Arch based version of Linux.
I'll never go back to windows after switching to Linux. There's lots of Linux information readily available to help you easily adopt your new Operating system, Linux. Don't be intimidated by the Linux learning curve.
Maybe to be safe get a new HDD or SSD though. My windows partition was lost the first time I installed Linux alongside it... not to frighten you away from using Linux.

Install Ubuntu MATE. It's the best imo
>>58742782
debian or fedora

Been using xubuntu for the past few weeks after shitdows 10 rebooted itself and lost me all of my work. Couldn't be happier right now.
