As someone who wants to get into app development is it worth buying a Mac despite already having a great PC? It's a lot of money but I'm very eager to get into app development.

I can pirate OS X and it works on standard hardware? I thought Mac computers had specific hardware that was required for OS X to run. Would pirating OS X allow me to publish apps to the store?

Why not just virtualize it?
Could run it in a VM on a second screen.

It's worth it if you don't want to babysit your hackintosh. if you're poor and have time, Hackintosh is a good option.
I'm an app developer (Swift, iOS) and I use a hackintosh.
