40 inch monitors seem too big
1 X 24'' on 1080p is all you need.
But get an IP monitor.
Don't get cancer.

for you

>being to poor too afford a large monitor
20" 1600x1200 and 24" 1920x1080 is a comfy setup.

>all you need
If you're a normie sure.
Anyone doing work or regular multi-tasking will never think a SINGLE 1080p is acceptable.
I'm using dual 1440p and would never go back to a single 1080p even if it was OLED and gave me blowjobs every hour.

Why are macbooks always propped up like that? Is it too expensive to touch the desk or what? It doesn't look comfortable at all so what is the purpose?
>>58737399
it's showy shit for the egos of the people who post their fancy setups. mine sits right on the desk next to my monitor, usually closed.

because it's more ergonomic if you want to use the laptop screen
also better cooling because apple fucks up the thermals on every machine they make

That's a TV. 40" monitors don't exist.

I have the same monitor. There are some minor colour bandings but other than that it is excellent.
I was thinking of 2 or 3 24" monitors but one big is just as well and lessens the need to swivel your head.

big monitors / tv are amazing for music production
I have a 43" 4K screen about 70cm from my face. It is amazing.

This.
40" monitor would have much higher resolution than that, you can get 28" monitors with 4K resolutions, all you have done is stretched it over a bigger display, but in reality you have no more advantage over a 28" monitor in terms of screen real-estate.

nice 99's
Why do people think that Macbooks are expensive? I got a mid-2012 i7 MBP for $500, two years ago. Got another one for $400 a few months back. Own a couple of Thinkpads as well. Buying Macbooks is easy though, because you don't have to worry about a junk display and all of that garbage. There isn't as much to sperg about compared to Sony, Lenovo, Toshiba. I guess the last point could be enough for many on this board to not consider them as work machines.
Seriously though, I get leagues better battery life, better display, and yes, better thermals on my 2012 Macbooks than I have any 2012 PC, even brand new in 2012. I have several PCs to run Windows and Linux, but the Macs have been my best buys.
