>does the TDP of both processors match?

>are they both the same socket?

>are they both the same generation of processors?

>if it is a FPBGA processor and not a FCPGA processor, do you possess the necessary skills/tools to correctly reball and resolder a processor?

>do you know how to correctly install coreboot onto your ideapad 510 to bypass any blacklisted hardware, assuming you need too?


theoretically speaking, if you have answered yes to all of these, then you can do the switch. if you have answered no to even just one of these, then you cannot.
