Best lga1155 cpu for the money

I have one with a custom water loop and couldn't be happier. Everything I've thrown at it it's handled with ease.

1155 only goes up to quad cores, and new quad core xeons are literally just i7's (and the old quad core xeons are literally just trash)
What are you using this for? I would take a guess and say some kind of pentium would be the best price/perf on the cheap side, people really like the 6500 for locked usage

I can't tell from your thumb you posted but if its a asus p67-z68 forget it. sell it. Nothing but problems with mine. and numerous problems online from post problems with certain gpus.

that said you can get a 3550, turbo to x39 on all cores (+4,+2), and bclk to 102.6 for 4ghz. some z75 and z77 mobos have MCE and you can go 4.2 all cores with x41 and a small bclk or a 3570 on multi alone.

my 3550 was $73 after shipping and I sold the old i3 for $30.

I just want to do some light gaming on old games and some multimedia work.so i dont plan onspending to much on it just as a spare i can give to my brother.so it doesnt make sense for me to spend 200 plus on cpu.

This one seems perfect cheap which is what i want.
It just going to be a cheap pc i can give to my brother and maybe later on toss my old gpu when i upgrade to gtx1080 or if a better gpu comes out that i can afford.
