Found an old 8800 GT OC video card in a box of random computer crap. My question is what kind of basic rig should I build around it. I'm thinking MAME/Kodi box for my TV. Is this going to be the bottle neck?

good times anons. but not really. Clean installing Nvidia drivers was shit, and crysis didn't run on max settings at 1440x900

My ex had an 8800GT in what was essentially her TF2/MPC-HC machine up until last year, and it struggled to run it even at medium/1600x900, with MPC chugging anytime something needed major upscaling with EVR (MadVR was framedrop central). A lack of DX11/DXVA2 hurts, since a lot of modern codecs and renderers are built around them
