I actually disagree with them. Making a retard chatbot is really hard because it implies they have a damaged brain like intelligence behind it. In reality chat bots are just databases with sophisticated search engines. Of course even that is hard.

In the terminator tv show they fleshed out some interesting concepts of how the terminator brain worked. It was a series of processes. So one low level one might be optical character recognition and a more cpu intensive item is apps which allow higher thought.

Because the human brain is incredibly complex, intangible and efficient in regards to taking in the bigger picture.

The fact that we're even able to fabricate something that learns and has an inkling of intelligence comparable to humans out of something as deliberate and fundamentally simple as circuits is incredible.

Because your brain is not actually a computer and does not actually work like a computer.

Computers do not do random, they only respond to commands (even if you don't realize it's a command) and thus they can not have a random reply. You can make it so fucking complex what the response is based on (shit like going off the clock down to the nanosecond divided by the temp of the CPU times the current browser version ect ect ect) but it's just doing some math and spitting out an answer.
