And why mpv don't have NGU/NNEDI like scalers?
I know they can make the graphic cards louder but is it really the reason behind this?

I've been having a problem with mpv recently that's really bothering me. I'm on arch with kde + kwin and everytime I fullscreen mpv, it won't ever leave fullscreen. even if the video ends and the window closes, it stays open in the task manager in kde and is autoselected, so i can't change windows unless I use keyboard shortcuts. If i uninstall mpv the icon on the task manager changes to the default x window system icon, so that might be related. i really don't want to restart my computer just to fix it since i have a lot of other shit running, but i've found nothing about this on github or anywhere else

You could do that by just downloading the video with youtube-dl and watching the vfile with mpv as it gets downloaded. You could then use encode.lua on the local file. Although you have to be careful with filling up your disk with garbage.

Now that you guys mentioned fonts. Every time I get the video info I get this:

angle-es2 is for testing/debugging only. It limits the feature set to what's available in OpenGL ES 2.0, which means most --opengl-* options won't work. If you set any other options, like fancy scalers, you'll probably get better performance with angle-es2 because none of the fancy scalers are actually working.
