Font rendering thread

Terrible. Consider not doing anything about it.

Recently installed MacType on Windows 10 and whilst I didn't like the default setting, the "LCD" one looks rather nice.
>>58705910
Looks beautiful. How do someone get this type of render ? My resolution is 2560x1440.
>>58705910
is blurry considered good now?

I was expecting this answer. RIP myself
game over nobody needs to post anymore
>>58705837
Same page as OP... and I've even adjusted the size of the browser to render the same.
Look at the differences between our font images... can anyone spot what's different?

>bigger display with more PPI gives better rendering
color me surprised. also fuck you for posting that pedo shit in every thread.

How do I make Chrome/Chromium not look like utter shit on some webpages?
How do you force it to render fonts better?

That is a silly question. Browsers have nothing to do with font rendering. Fonts rely on your screen resolution, gpu and PPI density.
>>58705910
Your font rendering is exactly like mine on ubuntu, except the liberation sans, that makes it more readable.

Post on /g/, /o/, /his/ about the latest releases of animu and see what happens.

>>58707657
How do you alter that?
1920x1200 Win10, Chromium.

San Francisco is easily the best font on the planet for desktops and is readily available for all systems. Fuck, it even makes Windows usable.
So sad that people refuse to use it because they're literally too retarded to change fonts~

>San Francisco is easily the best font on the planet f
I was schooled early on to never use a font with a city name.
That was because the original Mac system fonts were low-res and "thrown together" bitmaps.
Once Postscript and, later, Truetype arrived things got better.

Missing out 2bh
>still not using unantialiased monospaced fonts
>>58710299
That's right, I am too retarded for that. Any pointers?
>>58710935
Depends which OS you're currently utilizing.
>>58710976
8.1, but I would switch to 7 if that meant better fonts.
>>58707466
Fuck, I lost.
>>58710992
Eh, doable. No need to switch just for font.
First of all, you should probably find the font you want to utilize. I personally love San Francisco, but who knows maybe you want the entire system to look like >>58710894
Google/Bing/etc can easily fulfill the above notion. Plenty of gorgeous fonts on google fonts. Or torrents, or githubs, etc. Install the font, obviously.
Secondly, disable the Windows Font Cache service in services (Win + R > services.msc > Windows Font Cache... > Right Click > Properties > Change from automatic to disabled). If it's not there, look for something explicitly similar.
Now here you can either go manual (editing registry yourself as noted https://www.reddit.com/r/customization/comments/2p7i0u/how_do_i_change_my_font_on_windows_81/cmwlhpu/) or just using winaero tweaker. Up to you. On winaero tweaker you'll want to search 'font' and change those to your liking. Also change 'icon's font setting because that's what file explorer will utilize. Even if you go manually, you'll still probably use winaero tweaker to fine tune things since Windows by default is pretty fucking sloppy with shit.
Enjoy. The only annoying part realistically is needing to restart/sign out a handful of times until you get things exactly as you desire.
Trying out mactype now, but the bottoms of some letters (g, y, etc.) are getting cut off in some applications.
Epic.
i literally know nothing about font redering
do i need to change something ?
What benefits are possible ?
Is font rendering a fetish ? does it have a own ICD number ?

y'all lame
Infiniality linux default config. I think. I don't actually know if it works or not, but it doesn't look too bad on the actual screen.
>blurry shit
no thank you
Truth be told, I don't even know if my font rendering is good or not or if I tried to make it nice.
Looks fine on my screen though which is really all that matters. We need to remember this - not all screens are created equal.

How do I fix Chrome's shitty fonts in Windows 10? Everything looks fine in Firefox, Edge, even IE. But Chrome is shit.
why?
Microsoft has had over 15 years to fix this shit and they just do not care
