I've bought an SSD and am doing a fresh install of Windows.
I'm only using Windows for games - for everything else I'm using ArchLinux.
Should I stay with 7, or take this chance and upgrade to 10? I don't care about Metro or Telemetry (my linux partition is encrypted anyway).
bump for interest
Since DX12 hasn't been released for Windows 7 yet, I'd install Windowss 10

LTSB.

Directx is part of Microsoft's planned obsolescence scam and won't be released for W7, on purpose, for no valid reason. They did the same thing with DX10 and XP
Stop being a faggot and use Windows 10. The memesters are stupid anyway because they can't be arsed to nuke the offending services on their own. Besides, Microsoft was found to have backdoors since Windows 95 so Windows 7 ain't gonna miraculously be Gentoo Linux.
For all the shit windows 10 gets it also does some things better. Don't create a MS account unless you need some store apps. Remove all the shit they put in your start menu and disable "suggestions" and you will generally be pretty happy with windows 10 if it is just for gaming. I have it on my gaming rig and It's never gotten in the way.
I use fedora on the laptop for daily use and programming.
