Ubuntu is pretty easy to use so I like that but I don't use linux anymore since I never really saw a benefit

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

It's ok for a server, it sucks for a desktop.

Fedora (KDE spin). Newish packages, zero hassle. Good to actually getting work done.

I would otherwise use Debian testing.

You know, I've been thinking. I'm not too savvy or anything. But just like unattended windows installations and such exist, is there any way of doing something similar with some existing linux distro, such as Ubuntu?

Let's say you grab Ubuntu server and you only install whatever you want it to install. But you want to do this 20 times on 20 computers that have the same exact specs automagically. I'm positive you can do that, but how?

Void. No systemd, no openers. Runit by default. Works great. Rolling release. I may try Devuan to see how that project is working out but with Void, I need not look at another.

openSUSE.

Between Ubuntu having hardware issues with my laptop that openSUSE doesn't have at all, and Tumbleweed's version of plasma being perfectly stable (moreso than even Neon), it was a perfect match for me.

So I dug a 27" all-in-one out of the trash, which worked perfectly after replacing the hard drive. It currently has Windows 7 but I'd rather put that Win7 key in my depository of spare keys and run Linux on it since literally all I use it for is browsing and reading comics since it's right next to my main PC but has a nicer screen.

What's a good OS for running JUST Firefox, a reader like CDisplay, and opening files from the other Windows PCs on my network? I'm considering either Arch or Debian.
