When will AMD release cards that compete with the 1070+?

Fairly soon. The new vega card looks to be between the 1070 and the 1080.

Rumors say May, with end of June being the absolute worst case.

There is still a decent chance though that AMD will have a hole in their lineup though if they only have 2 Vega chips coming out. I.e., Big Vega = a bit above/below 1080 for two different cuts/binnings, small Vega = somewhere between 1060 and 1070.

It would be wonderful if small Vega could match 1070 with 256 GB/s and 6-7 TFLOPS, but that's an extremely optimistic hope at this point.
