What mouse does /g/ use?

I think I found a perfect mouse. It's wireless, has no disgusting rubber on the sides, built solid, optical (because fuck laser), scroll wheel without ratcheting and it's built out of metal and you can scroll the whole huge page in under a second, back/fwd buttons, middle click, scroll wheel rocker.... and it's under $20. Got mine at Costco today.

If you pay more for a mouse, you're either a sucker or gaymer.
>>
Just got a steelseries rival 300. My first expensive mouse.

Wow. It feels way too good in my hand. Coming from a series of shitty $10 mice I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

I used to think like OP, 'oh its just a mouse, who cares' but I have totally changed my mind.

I use a Corsair M65 RGB PRO which has a very good sensor. Pretty much the defacto ideal for 1600 CPI gaming. It does suck that it's "heavy" for a gaming mouse but I have no qualms for it. I'm just happy it doesn't have the dumb tribal logo.

Fucking Fry's. Ordered this shit for Black Friday and it still hasn't shipped out.

Cancelling the order tomorrow, or later today I guess, and just buying it off Amazon. Saved like $30 but christ, it's been 2 months.

Anybody got a recommendation for another mouse, with 3 or 4 side buttons? And somewhat durable?
>>
>>58688335
I wasted half a decade of my life on WoW, and even I never fell for the Naga meme.
>>
>>58688335
Why not just use the deathadder for WoW? The two side buttons are usually enough for me. I bound one to interrupt and the other to mobility abilities (blink, death's advance, sprint). Click scroll wheel for mount. Shift+ click scroll wheel for hearthstone. Scroll wheel up/down and Shift+ scroll wheel up and down make good shortcuts too.
Sounds like you just don't know how to keybind or use a keyboard.
>>58688427
Mummy would never buy me anything that expensive except for Christmas and birthday's. I didn't afford a deathadder until I got a job. Gaming is fine as a hobby, just not a lifestyle. And razer is a shit company but the deathadder (2013) is fantastic.
>>
>>58686512
Roccat Kone XTD

It has a laser sensor. Bought it years ago when I was largely tech illiterate and chose a mouse by its size while making sure it was a gaming one. Still no reason to upgrade though, the build quality is solid, and I don't do heavy duty mouse gaming anymore where you NEED a flawless optical sensor to compete.
>>
>>58688010
Had this exact mouse die on me unfortunately. The right button switch gradually broke down completely. Bought a full on gaming mouse after that.

Please no bm. I've used a naga for years and have grown accustomed to using it in WoW. It sounds like you've never experienced the comfort it can offer, though it takes some time to grow deft with the thumb buttons.
>>
>>58688589
That mouse is fantastic. Had it for like 4-5 years but the right button started not working so changed it out.

Changed to a Logitech Performance MX or something and it's fucking trash. Doesn't hold charge for more than a couple of hours and I had to enact my warranty because it started having problems where it wouldn't register clicks after like 6 months.

The new one I got is starting to get like that so I'm looking to get a new non-Logitech mouis

The spotty right click is probably easily fixable in five minutes with a screw driver and a can of compressed air (problem is dust accumulates around the microswitches inside the mouse). I had the same problem with my G700 and fixed it pretty easily by following the steps in this dude's video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-MUo2zbQt4 (his russian accent is pretty calming to me too). I didn't need to buy new mouse feet after doing this fix either, the old ones don't look tampered with at all.

G700 is good as new, but I still use the M510 about 50% of the time because it just feels comfier and the G700 has a really short battery life which is annoying. Plus I don't usually need that many buttons.

I hate it. The top profile is too arched for palm grip and it doesn't fit my hand unless I place my Index on left click, middle finger on scroll wheel, and ring finger on right click while leaving my pinky floating to the side.
It also spins out on me and the scroll wheel miss clicks a lot now so I have to use the dpi button for scroll clicking. Also the sensor is not centered so doing spins are hard. Did I also mention its 130g for an fps mouse?

I'm ditching this pos for a logitech g102. Heard the mercury sensor is flawless and its only 30 bucks shipped from china.

After seven years of service, I have decided to dispose (its a basic logitec wired mouse that came with my college laptop).

What should I get?

>>58697633
Yeah obviously there are limited cases where you're better off using the rodent, but these tend to be for entertainment purposes, which is why I said
>unless you're playing Daggerfall

Browsing 4chan is a similar waste of time and productivity, so it doesn't really matter as much that you are fiddling around with the rodent.

My point is that if you use the mouse so much that you'll shell out serious bucks for an optimal one, it's time to consider leaving your computer hobby for something else.

>>
>>58703088
the main problem is IMO not even the size of the unit itself, but the ball is also very small (the same size as Logitech M570 ball), so it's hard to control it with 2 fingers.
However, while at the beginning I thought it was really tiny and cramped, I got used to it and now it kinda feels OK.
A few size comparisons here: http://imgur.com/a/0DatI
>>
I need a good mouse for rainbow 6 siege, which needs a lot of different button functions while on the fly. should i get a mouse with a thumb-pad or opt for only 3-5 programmable buttons?
>>
>>58703644
Do you recommend it then? My hand is 17.5 cm long from the tip of the ring finger to the base of the hand (where the carpals should be, more or less).

>2 fingers
So, that's the advantage of index finger trackballs?
>>
>>58703644
>>58703692
I'm actually pondering if it wouldn't be better to go symmetrical, but the Elecom is too damn sexy.
>>
>>58703692
It's about the same size as mine, and it's OK.
It did take some time to get used to it, but now it feels fine and I found a comfortable hand position.
If you don't have fat sausage fingers, it SHOULD also be fine for you. If you do have fat sausage fingers, it will be cramped because the right click button is really close to the ball.

However, like with any device, it's hard to tell. I bought it on a whim, then regretted it for the first week, then got used to it, now I'm using it as my primary input device.

But if you have a chance, first try some of the symmetrical trackballs in a store (I often saw Logitech trackman marble on display) - just so you have some comparison. If you have a chance to try out the Kensington Orbit, that's even better - while the shape is different, the orbit without its wrist rest attached "feels" similar in size to the Elecom.

I use a Rival 100 as a travel mouse to go with my laptop. It's nice, but I still prefer my G400s at home.
>>
Hey /g/, I'm looking to buy a new mouse because my shitty dell noname that comes with my old laptop does the double clicking problem. I would mainly use it for gayming and web browsing.
I am okay with Razor as well, as long as you can recommend me a specific model that will certainly not be affected by the double clicking problem after a few months. Basically every single mouse I have bought from them, and owned in the past (Krait original, Krait 2013) started the double clicking problem after around 6 months, which could temporarily be fixed by various tweaking, but I would prefer not having to put up with that crap.

tl;dr please recommend me a gayming mouse that will last for a few years without double clicking, I'm terrified of that problem

What's a good mouse with at least 9 buttons that isn't Logitech?
Every Logitech I've owned has the same problem with the scroll wheel: after scrolling, sometimes it lands on the middle of a notch so next time I put my finger (without moving it) on it it will jerk either up or down

>>58699140
>G602 was also good, but mine had so many quality problems and didn't like some of the buttons' placement.
I had to replace mine 4 (four) times because the wheel button kept dying.
>>
>>58699140
I like Razer, but the hate is quite justified about the quality problems.

Basically, their products are quite expensive, and I would expect to purchase a good quality product for that price; meaning they shouldn't break down after 1 year (sometimes earlier). However, this is not the case. The products work perfect but they do not last long. If you do any kind of online search for any Razer mouse, you will read similar stories, after around 1 year you pretty much have to replace them or start applying various home fixes. For this price range people expect these to work for at least 3-4 years or longer.

logitech g3. have it for 8-9 years, still going without problems.

is there anything i could replace it with? requirements:
- close in size/shape
- ambidexterous as i use it with left hand. additional buttons either on 2 sides or none at all (if there's left handed version that's fine too)

interested in both wired and wireless.

Steelseries Kana v1

Is there any mouse currently available like that (esp. the opposing side buttons)? I feel like mine is going to break eventually.

i had one, great shell, terrible sensor.

I have that mouse but with the spectrum of colors and full black thumb pad.

So, the lack of trackballs in the world is due to...?
Them being inferior?
Increased cost?
Longer learning curve?

Mousefags:

Heavy or light?

I always thought heavier was better for feel, but recently I noticed doing small motions with my fully weighted 502 caused it to skip a lot. Tried a light mouse and it was much easier to perform smaller movements.

Is there any reason you would want your mouse to be really heavy?
>>

>rubber on side wears off and sticks to your finger
>mouse wheel scroll jumps every where
>dumb gaymen lights
would not buy again / 10

Worst piece of shit I've ever owned. If you want an MMO mouse, stay away from Roccat.

You're supposed to try out the weights yourself
I did and the most comfortable option became fucking obvious
>>
I have some microsoft mouse that came bundled with an xbox360 controller for PC I bought 5 years ago and it's still pretty good, i don't understand why anyone would buy a "gaming" one when you can snipe pretty well with it.
>>
>>58708472
I've always assumed one should go for the lightest mouse possible, which is why the customizable weight meme made no sense to me. Less momentum, less strain on the wrist, better for quick and precise movements.

The reason I ask is that I got a cheap mouse that is supposed to be of the top of the line of this (TO REMAIN UNNAMED) manufacturer, but it has no weight adjustibility (which most of its line does) and it is super light, like it feels cheap it is so light.

I paid $2 for it but if I had paid $100 for it I would've thought I got ripped off. Mouse works fine though.
>>
I use a G600, and don't know how I'm going to deal with anything else when it dies
>>
>>58711456
I've learned my lesson. Next time I find a good mouse, I will buy at least 3 of it.

I'm looking to get a replacement for my aging CM Storm. I want a wired mouse so I don't have to deal with batteries. What is a decent mouse that doesn't have a fuck ton of MMO buttons or is some fail-in-a-year razer?
>>
>>58702225

It still works with one battery fampai.
Obviously lasts less, but it also weighs less (if weight is a concern to you with this mouse)
>>
Middle mouse button on my FK1 is dying on me after a solid couple of years of use.

What's a solid replacement? I don't really care about whether it looks like dudebro gaming trash or not as long as it works well. Can't be wireless.

>need a new mouse
>amazon
>look at both the wired & gaming mouse sections
>limit by 4+ stars

The fuck is this why are there so many.
>>
>>58716721
People have no standards and will shill for every sale they made to lull themselves into believing, that they haven't wasted their money.

I bought the most fucking expensive mouse ever and it's a piece of shit.
>>
>>58699140
if they made a lefthanded mouse that could handle 7000 hours of use without the sensor failing i would have no issue giving razer my money again. the dead razer mouse pile
>>
>>58686663
It's pretty comfy desu
>>
>>58716816
I almost wish I was looking to spend more, since then my options would be at least somewhat more limited.

I'm looking at things under like $30 and there are still a shitload of high rated options.
>>
>>58716911
What game genre do you intend to play with? Completely different mice are needed for FPS than for let's say moba.
>>
>>58686512
Logitech M705 on my laptop because portability and 3 year battery life
On my desktop and computer at work Logitech MX master because I am an adult who could care less about LEDs.

Still using my IME 3.0.
Tracking feels better than the razer mouse I have but the 400 dpi really hurts for desktop usage.
>>
>>58717010
Increase your sens then you retard.
>>
>>58717089
Are you sure you are not the retard here?

It only has a 400 dpi mode and I do not care to mess with the windows mouse settings and cause my aim in games to turn into garbage.
>>
>>58717122
Are you sure you ain't the retard? Just use raw input for your games you stupid shitter.
>>
>>58717147
And what if I play a game that does not have that, am I to go adjust my windows settings every time I switch in and out of the game?

I would much rather just stick with sending my mouse to the moon every time I want to click something.

Genius Netscroll 200 Laser

Using it for maybe up to 10 years now I don't even know.

I kind of would like a new one with more buttons but honestly I feel like anything I would buy wouldn't be as nice and reliable as the one I have now.
