Asus M5 A97 R2.0 vs i3 6100 Which one should I get?

I had an ASUS M5A97 before I switched back to Intel. Such a nice motherboard. I had a Phenom II X4 965 BE in it and was on the edge of putting an FX 8350 in it before I took the plunge and got an MSI Gaming 5 motherboard and bought an i7 4790K.

I can say that the UEFI firmware in ASUS' motherboards is far better than the "Click Bios" bullshit UEFI that MSI uses. I'm contemplating buying a new motherboard just to go back to ASUS even though I don't really need one. I guess I could take this motherbaord and processor and turn this machine into a file server or something.

The i3 6100 is the best bang for the buck, generally speaking, and has better upgrade options. It also generates less heat than AMDs compact nuclear reactors.

If the i3 6100 doesn't do it for you, save money for an extra month, and buy the i5 above it.

The only processors I've had die from cooking themselves to death haven't been Intel, IBM, Qualcomm, or even via. Only AMD and Sony (cel processor).
