>>58686171
I think the motherboard and SSD were the only things I paid full price for.

I got the 6700k via Intel Retail Edge, monitor was like $400 via slickdeals, RAM was 50% off a black friday sale, GPUs are both Gigabyte reference models that I got for $525 each about 3 months after the 980Ti release. I bought HDDs when they go on sale, usually $140-150ish, to feed my NAS.

I noticed that there are faint grey lines across the screen horizontally when using 144Hz on DisplayPort. They do not appear when on 60Hz for example. Is that supposed to be normal? This is my first 144Hz monitor and I feel like that's abnormal.

does anyone here have experience upgrading the gpu/cpu on a 8760W?
>>
>>58691365
DDR3 and DDR4 are quite different
DDR4 2133MHz CL15 RAM is much slower than my DDR3 1600MHz CL8
Also, there is nothing about the CPU and GPU used on your graph.
I don't really play Fallout 4 anymore, especially not without VSync, but last time i did, i've been well over 150FPS.
>>
>>58691431
>DDR3 and DDR4 are quite different

No, they're not.

Skylake likes memory bandwidth far above tight timings. This has been proven again and again, to the point that it's been demonstrated that overclocking your RAM has a bigger impact on framerates than overclocking your CPU when it comes to Skylake.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er_Fuz54U0Y

Your system is bottlenecked out the ass by that slow as shit memory and pitiful bandwidth. Your ebin CL8 DDR3-1600 has the exact same latency as CL16 DDR4-3200 (around the price/performance sweet spot for Skylake), yet half the bandwidth.

Best not to talk about bottlenecks when your own system is a disaster, anon. The CPU in the graphs tested was a 6700K at 4.5GHz by the way.

>muh 150fps!!!

Utterly irrelevant unless you tested in the same area with the same settings.

>>

so obviously RAM speed matters, but just like CPUs, it probably doesn't matter until you reach a bottleneck, no?
>>
>>58691544
>Talks about DDR4 being superior to DDR3

It's not like i'm saying DDR3 is better, but the difference is nowhere near what you're showing.

Does 4-way SLI work at all? Also nice CPU bottleneck.
>>
>>58695561
>implying a 5820K can bottleneck anything

and yes 4-way works. SLI is a lot more optimized than given credit for.

Although i will admit that I only made this system to make the ultimate PC, and the difference between 3 and 4 GPUs are miniscule
>>
