I'm thinking about switching from Windows 7 to Ubuntu 16.04.
What should I expect? How do you optimize drivers on Loonix?
just make a partition for it so you can have both. 16.04 LTS should come with most stuff you'll need already

That it is an entirely different ecosystem. Have an open mind and explore the possibilities.
The most common pitfall of trying Linux is trying to use it like windows.

what ?
how do you optimize drivers on windows ? last time i've checked all companies only offered proprietary closed source drivers

You don't. If you want performance go with the proprietary one

Chipset, LAN, SATA drivers
>>58680676
and... how do you optimize the code of them ?
>>58680646
But I use only proprietary drivers on my Linux system anon.

so, how do you optimize the code of your proprietary drivers ?

If you dont know how to already you wont know how to. Nvidia offers a tinkering tool so there is that. But code wise its not a good idea i'm pretty sure you will break xorg

Tyrone, please stay on Windows.
