It's the unfortunate truth that Apple takes device security more seriously than Google. This is coming from an android user.

Things that only happen to people who are irresponsible with their phones. Keep phone on you at all times and keep pic related on you in case of mugging attempts. This is all you need to physical security.

I feel your pain. My old Nexus5 broke down the other day so I decided to get a cheap Moto G4 Plus to replace it.

Having a newer phone I could run official Nougat on I researched file-based encryption and got sad when I realised how far behind Apple Google are.

And that LineageOS broke the encryption in (some) of their builds made me wanna stay far away from them.

We can only hope that Android get to where iOS is today within an update or two (though I doubt it...)
